If you disagree with your property’s assessed value or another eligible determination, now is the time to gather your documentation and file your petition.

Petitions can be filed online, in person or by mail, and the standard filing fee is $15 per folio.

📬 Filing by mail? Your petition must be received by the Clerk by the deadline. A postmark does not count as the filing date.

Jury service is one civic responsibility that puts us all on equal footing. Regardless of a person’s profession, public profile or prominence, those summoned for jury service
are called upon to fulfill the same important civic responsibility.

Yesterday, Jeff Bezos answered that call and reported for jury service alongside hundreds of his fellow Miami-Dade residents.

Jury service is one of the most important ways citizens participate directly in our justice system. Every year, tens of thousands of Miami-Dade residents answer that call and contribute their time to the administration of justice and our community.

We thank Mr. Bezos and all of the jurors who reported for service yesterday, today, and every day for their willingness to participate and fulfill this important civic responsibility.

A great Sunday at the ballpark!

I had a wonderful time joining members of our Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court and Comptroller team and their families for the Miami Marlins game this weekend.

Our team works hard every day serving our community, so it was great to have an opportunity to spend time together outside of the office, connect with one another, and enjoy an afternoon of baseball.

The Value Adjustment Board (V.A.B.) gives Miami-Dade County property owners an opportunity to challenge certain decisions regarding their property, including value and eligible exemption or classification decisions.

The Clerk of the Court and Comptroller serves as Clerk to the V.A.B., helping administer the petition and hearing process.
