..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WESTERN SCHLEICHER...SOUTHEASTERN
STERLING...WESTERN TOM GREEN...NORTHEASTERN CROCKETT AND IRION
COUNTIES THROUGH 1015 PM CDT...
At 917 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 15 miles northwest of Arden to 8 miles north of Us-190 Near The Crockett-Sutton County Line to near Ozona. Movement was northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Mertzon, Ozona, Arden, Barnhart, Water Valley, Sherwood, The
Intersection Of Us 190 And Highway 163, Us-67 Near The Irion-
Tom Green County Line, Us-87 Near The Coke-Tom Green County Line, and Us-190 Near The Crockett-
Sutton County Line.
This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 357 and 377.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
