Ms. Glenn and Godard's class is making the alphabet come to life through environmental print and real-world connections! 💙📚
This week’s focus was the letter M, and our Little Wildcats had some very special connections to explore. Dr. Donna Shea of Mississippi State University stopped by to talk with students about M for MSU, and Mr. Percy Bland, Mayor of Meridian, sent a special letter to the class highlighting M for Meridian, Mayor, and Major, a student in the class.
To make the week even sweeter, students also enjoyed milkshakes for snack — another fun M connection! 🥤
What a great way to help young learners see that letters are all around them—in their school, their community, and the world they know.

Learning is always more fun in Pre-K! 💙 Our Little Wildcats are building big skills through hands-on play, exploration, movement, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences. Every smile, question, discovery, and “I did it!” moment is helping our students grow in confidence and become excited learners. 🌱🐾

Child must be 4 years old on or before September 1
• Child must live within the Meridian Public School District attendance zone
• Parent/guardian must complete the Pre-K screener application (scan QR code)
• Child must attend a scheduled screening appointment
• Parent/guardian must provide:
-Certified birth certificate
-Valid Mississippi Form 121 shot record
• Child must be completely potty trained

Our Little Wildcats had a great first week learning routines, making friends, and growing more independent each day!

We’re proud of our students, thankful for our staff, and grateful to our families for helping us start the year strong.

Before welcoming students this week, our Little Wildcat teachers were busy learning, collaborating, and growing in preparation for the 2026–2027 school year! 💙🐾🌱

Through engaging professional development, our teachers participated in meaningful activities and discussions designed to strengthen instructional practices, build positive classroom environments, and better meet the needs of our youngest learners. Many thanks to Coach Calhoun of Move to Learn and Jessica Princell and Candace Coker of The Spot for collaborating with us!

We believe that when teachers grow, students grow! Our team is ready to put their learning into action as we continue to Ready, Set, Grow Little Wildcats! 🌱📚✨
