MORE THAN 12 POUNDS OF EX**SY
SEIZED IN SOUTHEAST MEMPHIS

During the early morning hours of 8/31/26, Agents from our Interdiction Unit operating under the Governor’s Violent Crime Initiative Fund Grant in the 38131 zip code were conducting interdiction operations in the area.

During these operations, Agents seized approximately 21,000 ecstasy or “extasy” pills traveling from Houston, Texas to Memphis.

“This bulk amount, traveling cross country, means organized crime on a big scale,” said Shelby County DA Steve Mulroy, 1 of 3 DAs making up the DTF board. “ i’m glad our DTF agents were able to intercept it.”

No further details are being released at this time as the investigation continues.

“We are holding back on releasing further details at this moment pending further investigation, said Task Force Director Johnie Carter. He also added, “I would like to thank Governor Lee and the DTF Board of Directors for making this grant possible and commend my Agents on the operation thus far with a job well done.”

This case is being prosecuted by the office of the Shelby County District Attorney's Office of Steve Mulroy.

OVER 6,000 FENTANYL PILLS SEIZED
FROM MEMPHIS HOTEL ROOM

On Thursday 8/27/26, Agents from Shelby County’s 30th Judicial District, operating under the Governor’s Violent Crime Initiative Fund grant was called by a State of Tennessee Probation and Parole Officer requesting assistance at a hotel near Wolchase Mall.

On arrival, Agents met with the Officer who stated he was in town for training and staying at the hotel. He further stated that he had “found som**hing suspicious”hidden in his room.

Upon further investigation, Agents discovered approximately 6,104 pressed fentanyl pills that had been vacuum sealed, wrapped in electrical tape and hidden inside of a piece of furniture in the Officer’s room.

The Officer stated that he discovered the package after moving the chair and seeing a key had fallen out. Upon further inspection of the chair, the package was discovered.

Agents are investigating and conducting forensic analysis on the packaging.

No one has been charged at this time and any future prosecutions will be conducted by the office of the Shelby County District Attorney's Office of Steve Mulroy.

Agents with the 29th District assisted by Dyersburg Police Department served a search warrant this morning in the 100 block of Tennyson.

During the search, Agents seized approximately 1/2 ounce of m**hamphetamine, digital scales and a small amount of U.S. currency.

Agents encountered 3 persons in the residence. Two males were arrested for possession with intent to distribute m**hamphetamine. One of the males was on bond and wearing an ankle monitor while the second was wanted for violation of probation out of Obion County.

The Agents apparently did a purrrfect job as approved by the cat inside of the residence.

He ran south from Court Square, and has stolen a silver Lincoln Navigator from Security Bank in Trenton. No known direction of travel. He is a white male, brown eyes, brown hair, 5’10, 150lbs. Agents with the 29th District out of Dyersburg served a search warrant in the 1200 block of Jones St this morning bringing a months long investigation to a close.

Agents, assisted by Dyer County Sheriff's Office and Dyersburg Police Department Street Crimes, served the warrant at approximately 0830 this morning. During the search, Agents located and seized just over 2 ounces of m**hamphetamine, electronic scales and other paraphernalia used to package, weigh and sell m**h.

Agents also seized $3,653.00 in suspected drug proceeds. One male was arrested and is being charged with possession with intent to Mfg./Deliver or sell a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and altering a V.I.N.

“While we were on scene, neighbors and passersby were stopping to tell Agents thank you for stopping this as it has apparently been difficult to live near the home for some time”, said Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter.

On 6/24/26, Agents conducting operations near Hornbrook St. in Dyersburg observed a male acting suspiciously and observed what appeared to be a weapon concealed inside of his pants.

Agents then made contact with the suspect, who in an attempt to evade arrest, fled on foot. During the pursuit, the suspect pulled and threw the G***k handgun. The suspect was apprehended with the AR styled pistol.

One male suspect was caught, arrested and is being charged with evading arrest, possession of a weapon and simple possession of ma*****na.

“I commend the Agents involved for maintaining their professionalism while chasing and arresting an armed suspect where a weapon(s) were produced by the suspect and without Agents firing a shot”, said Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter.

This case is being prosecuted by the office of the District Attorney General, 29th Judicial District of Danny Goodman, Jr.
