On Friday, Oct 23, 2026, Agents from the 29th district out of Dyersburg served a drug search warrant pursuant to an undercover investigation.

During the investigation, products containing synthetic Kratom alkaloids were purchased from the back room of Smokerz Depot at 2675 Lake Road.

Agents seized multiple packs of products containing synthetic Kratom alkaloids, illegal THC products and more than $2,600 in drug proceeds.

This case is being prosecuted by the office of the District Attorney General, 29th Judicial District of Danny Goodman, Jr.

Drug Dealer Revoked to Serve 10 Year Sentence

HAYWOOD COUNTY, TN- Today, in the Circuit Court of Haywood County, Judge Clayburn Peeples revoked Lafayette Boyd (44) to serve his 10-year felony sentence in the Tennessee Department of Correction.

On September 26, 2019, Boyd was convicted of Possession of Co***ne with Intent to Sell, to which he was sentenced to 10 years under strict State supervision. Boyd violated the terms of his supervision by acquiring new felony convictions in Lauderdale County, located in the 25th Judicial District. Boyd also failed drug screens and absconded from probation.

While Boyd was on probation, he was arrested by the Tennessee Highway Patrol for Possession of Ma*****na with Intent to Sell, Felony Evading Arrest, Tampering with Evidence, and Driving on Revoked License-2nd offense. Subsequent to his arrest, State probation filed a violation of probation warrant.

“Boyd has prior felony convictions, and he has been given every opportunity to be rehabilitated and be a law-abiding Tennessean. We thank Judge Peeples for holding Boyd accountable, and we hope the Parole Board makes him serve every day of his 10-year sentence.

During the evening hours of 10/15/26, Agents out of the 29th District of Tiptonville observed a suspect wanted on a federal drug indictment operating a motor vehicle.

Agents conducted a traffic stop and took the man into custody for the warrant. Subsequent investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 3.5 grams of fentanyl.

One male was arrested for possession of schedule II with intent to sell and the outstanding federal warrant.

The office of the District Attorney General, 29th Judicial District of Danny Goodman, Jr. is prosecuting this case.

On 10/15/26, Agents with the 29th district out of Dyersburg served a drug search warrant in the 800 block of Central Street.

During the search, Agents seized nearly an ounce of co***ne and crack co***ne along with multiple ex**sy pills, electronic scales and a small amount of ma*****na.

One previously convicted male was arrested and is being charged with possession of schedule II with intent to sell x 2 counts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This case is being prosecuted by the office of the District Attorney General, 29th Judicial District of Danny Goodman, Jr. and agents were assisted by the Dyer County Sheriff's Office.

WEST TN DTF SEIZES 20 KILOS OF METHAMPHETAMINE

SHELBY COUNTY, TENN. – A routine stop in Memphis Tuesday afternoon led to the seizure of 44 pounds of methamphetamine.

During the afternoon hours of 10/13/26, Agents with the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force (DTF) conducted a routine stop that led to a search of a suitcase packed not with clothes, but with drugs.

Further investigation revealed the drugs were being transported from Houston, Texas to Memphis. Agents arrested a 25 year old Texas man and charged him in Shelby County with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to deliver.

The value of the Methamphetamine is approximately $250k wholesale and street value is at approximately $500k.

The West Tennessee Drug Task Force operates by agreement between the District Attorney’s General for the 28th, 29th and 30th Judicial Districts. All state charges will be prosecuted by the Office of the District Attorney General for the 30th Judicial District, Steve Mulroy.

The West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force is a law enforcement agency that operates by agreement between the 28th, 29th and 30th District Attorneys General of Frederick Agee, Danny Goodman and Steve Mulroy. The V.C.I.F. Unit operates out of the 30th District and is made up of full time employees of the Drug Task Force. These Task Force Agents, are assigned to work fulltime in the nine most dangerous zip codes in Memphis under the Governor’s Violent Crime Initiative Fund grant (V.C.I.F.).

***PRESS RELEASE***

During the afternoon hours of 10/14/26, Agents with the West Tn. Drug Task Force out of Brownsville were conducting an operation on Hwy 70 near I-40 (exit 66).

During the operation, Agents observed a person of interest in an ongoing drug investigation traveling down Hwy 70 toward Brownsville.

A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. During the search, Agents discovered and seized 5 separate baggies of methamphetamine weighing a total of one ounce, digital scales and paraphernalia for sales and use.

One female was arrested and is being charged with possession of a schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the light law.

Agents were assisted in this case by Deputies of the Haywood County Sheriff's Office.

WEST TN. DRUG TASK FORCE SEIZES HE**IN FROM BROWNSVILLE HOME

During the afternoon hours of 10/13/26 Agents with the 28th Judicial District out of Brownsville served a drug search warrant in the 1100 block of South Washington of St.

During the search, Agents seized approximately 3.0 grams of he**in, 2 ounces of ma*****na, digital scales and co***ne residue.

No one was at home at the time of service and warrants are being sought for the suspects.

Agents were assisted by Haywood County Sheriff's Office SWAT and the Brownsville Police Department.
