Election Day is very close now. We are nearing the end of a very civil campaign. So a few thoughts for these final days.
I am running for Upper Providence Township Council to represent all of the voters – whatever political, religious, ethnic or other specific affiliation – in Upper Providence District 4. That is really a given. Beyond that I would like to make sure that the township is a place where all residents feel comfortable attending meetings, applying for positions on committees, and expressing their concerns, and where they feel that their voices are heard and their issues are addressed. I would like to see a place where information is shared routinely, and where resident input is sought and planning is done in a proactive manner.
I have in the past been very involved with my children’s school and community activities – from PTG Publicity Chair for many years, participant on Principal’s and Superintendent’s Advisory Boards, AM Prom worker for three years, band parent, booster club facilitator, working to keep my daughter’s soccer team going when coaches were hard to find, and Girl Scout leader to teaching Art Goes to School. I have also served on local nonprofit boards and continue to participate in bar association committees. With my children off at college, however, I now have more time to become more involved in the local community, which is why I am running in this election.
I hope that you will grant me the opportunity to serve on the Upper Providence Township Council.
