Todd was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1997 after serving 4 years. He and his wife Carolynn, and two sons Kyle, and Erik have lived in Mechanicsville ever since. In 1999, Todd was hired by the Prince Georges County Police Department. In 2000 he was offered a job with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. During his time with the Sheriff’s Office, Todd has been assig
ned to the Criminal Investigation Division, Vice/Narcotics Division, Patrol Division, and Special Operations Division. During that time many of you have encountered him during the over 100 K-9 demonstrations he has done. Todd achieved certification and became the Sheriff’s Office’s first Master Canine Trainer with the International Police Working Dog Association. Todd was also a member of the Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Team where he participated in numerous search and seizure warrants, barricades, and warrant services. Todd retired on May 1st, 2022, however, with your help his law enforcement career is not over. With your vote, we can take back our county from all the shootings, homicides, and drugs coming from outside our county. If elected as your Sheriff, I will treat all citizens and deputies with respect, courtesy, and empathy. I will utilize intelligence-led policing and not be statistically driven. I will be tougher on crime and bring respect back to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff Deputies. I will be transparent and accessible to all.
