SOLID WASTE REQUIREMENTS AS FOLLOWS:

• Limbs and leaves must be kept separate from all other solid waste.

• Limbs and leaves must be placed in piles not to exceed six cubic yards. Limbs should be trimmed to six feet in length and should be no more than five inches in diameter.

• Any amounts exceeding six cubic yards will be charged $150 per load to be paid prior to pickup.

• “Brown goods” (ex. chairs, tables, sofas, and other furniture items) and “white goods” (ex. appliances and miscellaneous metals) are limited to two items per location per pickup.

• Any property, trash, or belongings placed outside following an eviction must be removed within 48 hours by the property owner.

• The City shall not be responsible for the pickup of solid waste generated by construction or demolition activities. The property owner must make other arrangements to dispose of items such as brick, lumber, blocks, plumbing materials, etc.

• Individuals or companies under contract as privately employed tree trimmers, tree surgeons, landscape contractors, and operators of tree and shrubbery leaves and limbs maintenance shall haul and dispose of all such debris if said debris exceeds the definition of a load of yard debris.(six cubic yards) It shall be the duty of the occupant or owner of any premises to separate yard debris from all other municipal solid waste.

Are you a dedicated law enforcement professional with a commitment to public service and community engagement? The City of McRae-Helena is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as our next Police Chief.

Job Summary: This position is responsible for all policies and operations, for enforcing all laws and ordinances, and for the protection of life and property within the city.

Essential Functions:
*Plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees department operations including enforcement operations directed toward crime reduction.
*Develops and administers the departmental budget.
*Makes personnel/employment decisions regarding matters of policy, operations, discipline, and procedure.
*Develops, evaluates, and enforces policies and procedures for departmental personnel.
*Develops and monitors a risk management plan to limit potential liability to the city.
*Meets with community and elected officials.
* Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies.
*Promote professional development and training within the department.
*Conducts personal research and training for professional development.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
*Basic Peace Officer training
*P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officer
*Georgia POST Management/Supervisory Certification(preferred)
*Live within 30 miles (preferred)
*Valid Georgia driver's license
*Excellent oral and written communications skills
*Knowledge of risk management in law enforcement
*Proficiency with fi****ms
*Knowledge of supervision, management and human recourse management principles
*Knowledge of budget preparation
*Knowledge of fi****ms, police radios, and various emergency equipment
*Knowledge of constitutional guidelines, federal and state criminal laws, traffic laws, and local ordinances.
* Ability to obtain appropriate federal clearances for interagency operations.
* Ability to account for and maintain department evidence.
*Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
*Skilled in public speaking
* Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department and community.
*Commitment to foster strong relationships with community members, businesses, and other stakeholders to promote trust and cooperation.
* Experience sufficient to understand the objectives and activities of all subunits in the department, usually associated with seven years experience in successively responsible law enforcement positions.
*Knowledge of and competence in law enforcement and criminal justice commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to law enforcement.(Note: Years of service and other certificates may be considered in the place of a degree.)
*Must pass a comprehensive background check including, criminal history, and drug screening.

Physical Demands:
This work requires frequent standing, walking, sitting carrying, pushing pulling, crawling and balancing; as well as occasional climbing, kneeling and crouching. The employee must be able to restrain individuals, and lift objects of varying weights.

Work Environment:
This work is performed in an office and outside in hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, and to life threatening situations.
