Early voting for the primary has arrived.
As we vote here in McPherson County, I’m reminded that our civic responsibilities are part of our calling to care for the place God has entrusted to us. When we show up with humility, wisdom, and love for our neighbors, we strengthen our community and honor the values that guide us.
If you are voting in advance you will vote at the new county clerk and elections office located in the The McPherson County Building, 200 N. Maple in McPherson KS.

Last night commissioner Keith Becker and I travelled to DELPHOS Ks. For the annual meeting of the North Central counties Association. Commissioners from Marion County, Riley County, Saline County, Clay County, Ottawa County, and Dickinson County met to discuss issues that are common amongst our counties. It’s very interesting to hear how other counties have addressed or will be addressing some of these issues. Also attending were representatives from the Kansas Association counties from Topeka.
Also included was an excellent meal. Thank you Ottawa County for hosting it !!

I am honored to continue to represent the North Central counties on the KANSAS County Commissioner Association Board of Directors.

The attached pictures are of AVI technical Academy. The bought the school building that had been empty for many years to relocate their business to KANSAS from Florida. They have been awarded many honors for innovative training, including in the area of electrical vehicles.

Yesterday morning, I attended the KDOT North Central KANSAS consult meeting at Tony’s pizza Center in Salina. During the process of choosing four projects from among several other potential projects I am hopeful they will select the K 61 / I 35 intersection to be redone in the future.

Congratulations to Lindsborg as it was announced Tuesday by the Kansas Department of Transportation, including Governor Kelly, regarding the reconstruction of K-4 and Bethany. This will include the removal of the aging highway 81 overpass!
This is part of the IKE KDOT program at an estimated cost of $11 million. The awarding of bids will commence in 2029.

The commissioners went through the asphalt plant today after the commission meeting. McPherson County is one of Two County on asphalt plants in the state of Kansas.  pictured are commissioners Keith Becker and Tom Kueser and supervisor Kevin!
