Turner Park: Fitness For All Ages Turner Park is a fun family friendly area. Playground, shelter, walking trail, bathrooms. On May 29th, 2013, Turner Park experienced a small tornado.

The tornado ripped through the beautiful park taking out mature trees and destroying most of the play equipment. Only one piece of equipment that meets todays safety standards remains undamaged. The local Park Board and the City Administrator, along with a group of interested parents and volunteers have been meeting monthly for the last year to develop plans to restore and improve the park. Workin

g with a professional Landscape Architect, the group came up with a three phase plan to upgrade Turner Park. After surveying local residents to get their input on the project, the group hopes to initiate Phase I in the Spring/Summer of 2015. This project, which generated the greatest interest and support in our survey, is a ΒΌ mile, ten foot wide walking trail around the perimeter of Turner Park. This path would be adjacent to Phase II, which will be the installation of new playground equipment. Phase III, is a splash pad and will be started after Phases I and II are completed. We are planning some fundraisers to raise money, such as candy bar sales, a cook-out at the park, and many others.

If there are any issues or something breaks please reach out to us so we can get things cleaned up. We had a piece of equipment break and leave a sharp edge that someone could have gotten hurt on. While we know accidents happen please be considerate on the equipment and treat it as it should. Replacements are expensive and can lead to less things to be able to do while enjoying the park.
