Letcher County Water and Sewer District is one of the fastest growing water districts in the state. Since 2003 we have placed approximately 192 miles of water line, providing potable water service to an estimated 2,600 customers. It is the desire of the Letcher County Water and Sewer District to provide safe drinking water to all the residents of Letcher County.

Public Notice - Flood Damage Meter Replacement Project

The Letcher County Water and Sewer District is in the process of replacing meters in the system with funds provided by USDA RD. The project covers the entire service area and is anticipated to begin Monday, April 20, 2026 and last through August of 2026. Representatives of Vanguard Utility Services, Letcher County Water and Sewer District and/or GRW Engineers will be working throughout the county over the next few months.
