2026 PROPOSED TAX RATE
PUBLIC HEARING

The Graves County Fiscal Court will hold a public hearing on September 14, 2026 @ 9:00 a.m. at the Purchase Area Development District, 1002 Medical Drive, Mayfield, Ky for the purpose of obtaining comments from the public regarding the proposed tax rate.

The tax rate levied last year was 9.3 and produced revenues in the amount of $2,184,705.00. This year’s compensating rate is 9.10 and will produce revenues in the amount of $ 2,281,747.00. The Graves County Fiscal Court proposes a tax rate of 9.3 which will produce a total of $2,184,705.00 in revenues.

Revenue expected from New Property is $27,679.63; revenue expected from Personal Property is $246,524.23; revenue expected from Motor Vehicles is $424,393.50; and revenue expected from Watercraft is $15,308.12.

Revenue received in excess of last year’s revenue will be used for: Public Safety

The Kentucky General Assembly requires that the Graves County Fiscal Court publish this notice with the above information contained herein.

Graves County County Road Department will be offering a Tree Debris Drop-Off Site for residents needing to dispose of tree limbs and tree debris only.

🟢 Important Guidelines:

Graves County Residents only

Trees & tree debris only — No household waste, No construction debris.

Residents must unload their own material.

No Tree Contractors allowed at this site.

📍 Location: East Pittman Road
🚧 Signs will be in place to help direct traffic.

Public Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15 for Rebuild Mayfield Project in Graves County
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 19, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has scheduled a public information meeting in Graves County on Tuesday, Sept. 15, to update the public on planned improvements for the Rebuild Mayfield Project.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. CDT (6:30-8:30 p.m. EDT), in the large community room at the Graves County Public Library, 601 N. 17th Street, Mayfield, KY 42066. It will follow an open house format, where attendees can view various exhibits, talk to KYTC staff and project team members and ask questions about the project. There will be no formal presentation.

Comment sheets will be available for those who want to provide feedback on the project.

Comments also may be submitted by mail before Wednesday, Sept. 30, to Austin Hart, P.E., District 1 Project Manager, KYTC District 1 Office, 5501 Kentucky Dam Rd., Paducah, Kentucky 42003. Comments can be submitted by email to [email protected].

Following the public meeting, displays will be available for review at the KYTC District 1 Office in Paducah. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., CDT (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. EDT). Information will also be available online after the meeting at RebuildMayfield.com.

All written comments will become part of the official meeting record. Once compiled, the meeting record and supporting documentation will be made available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Transportation Cabinet, Office of Legal Services, Transportation Office Building (200 Metro St, Frankfort, KY 40622), or via [email protected].
