I want to talk about culture really quick.
I’ve said this many times before at events across the state: if you don’t get the culture right, you won’t get the politics right.
And what I mean by that is this: politics is downstream from the values we live out every day.
Our culture is shaped in our homes, our schools, our churches, our communities, and the way we treat our neighbors. It’s built on strong families, personal responsibility, hard work, faith, service, and the belief that we have an obligation to leave something better for the next generation.
When those values begin to erode, our politics eventually follow.
That’s why protecting Iowa isn’t just about winning elections or passing legislation. It’s about strengthening the culture that made this state a place where people want to live, work, raise a family, and put down roots.
We can’t expect better government without first defending the values we expect that government to represent.
If we want to get the politics right, we have to get the culture right.
