Hello Chad !

Congratulations! You’ve been selected to join the inaugural Virginia Food Access Coalition’s Neighbor Advisory Council (VFAC NAC)! My name is Rickeya Feggans, RDN, and I will be serving as this year’s lead for VFAC NAC. As someone with lived experience, it’s an honor and a privilege to be able to join you in lifting up the voices of those experiencing or those that have experienced food insecurity to create true change.

As a reminder, this council will focus on advocacy efforts around policy related to food access, keeping these four priority areas in mind:

Food is Medicine (FIM) (also called Food & Health)

Healthy School Meals for All

Local Agriculture

SNAP & WIC

The vehicle to do this will be through sharing your stories and experiences with state legislators, and offering suggestions on ways to make current policy surrounding these four priority areas work for those experiencing food and nutrition insecurity.

Dear Chad,

Congratulations! We were very impressed by your application and would like to invite you to join this year's Walking College fellowship class.

This application cycle was our most competitive cycle to date, with more than 230 applicants vying for the 30 spots we have available. For this reason, I ask that you confirm your continued interest in and availability to participate in the six-month program by Wednesday, April 13th, at the latest.

Dear Chad,

Congratulations! You have been admitted to the Virtual Summer 2021 cohort of the Davenport Institute/School of Public Policy Professional Certificate in Leading Smart Communities, and we are pleased to offer you a 75% scholarship to attend.

This virtual offering will consist of a series of five, two-and-a-half-hour modules held over the course of five Tuesday afternoons via Zoom. The program will be held as follows-
Tuesday May 25th, 3-5:30 PM (PST)
Tuesday, June 1st, 3-5:30 PM (PST)
Tuesday, June 8th, 3-5:30 PM (PST)
Tuesday, June 15th, 3-5:30 PM (PST)
Tuesday, June 22nd, 3-5:30 PM (PST)
Participants are asked to attend each session with video on. Because peer-learning and live participation is critical, completion of the certificate requires live attendance to all of the sessions.
