Congratulations to Cecilia Minalga, our Democracy Defender Award recipient. This volunteer of the year award is given to Contra Costa Democrats who offer so much of themselves and their time to our Party and our endorsed candidates. Cecilia certainly has done that!

She entered politics, like many, after the 2016 elections. Since then, she has worked for the California Democratic Party as their 2020 Coordinated Campaign Area Director, led the paid phone bank teams for Newsom's Stop the Recall campaign,and the CA Grassroots Alliance, AND is our county volunteer chair.

We are honored to have Cecilia in our community and cannot thank her enough for all she does to save our democracy!

Mark your calendars: Our annual Solidarity Gala is October 10, 2025 in San Ramon.

This year’s theme “No Time to Waste” is an acknowledgement of the troubling times we face and the importance of the upcoming elections. We must persist, together, even in off-election years. We won several elections in 2024, we’re passing city and county ordinances and measures, and shown up for immigrants. And we won’t stop.
