AUGUST READING WRAP UP

Anyone else have an off kilter, reading mojo in August? I finished way less books than usual. Granted, I don't count kids books in my reading stats and I read a whole lot of those. I was busy basking in the summer sun, not reading and that's okay! That's what summer's for, right?

📚 Total Books: 6

✨️ Favorite ARC: Unroyally Yours - This YA novel was a pick for the program and I really enjoyed it! Think The Body Guard x the Princess Diaries, but flip it so the bodyguard is female and the princess is a prince. It's fresh, fun, and has some great plot twists.

➡️ Expected 4/20/27 Keep your eyes 👀 out for it

✨️ Series Finale: Wild Scottish Fate is the last book in the Enchanted Highlands series and I'm sad to see these characters go! With a 10 book series you really get to know the characters and location, falling in love with it along the way.

✨️ Favorite Fantasy: The Enchanted Greenhouse. I absolutely loved the vibes of this one.

A Coven of Witches landed on my doorstep last evening and I willingly invited them in (as any good witchy hostess would do). 🧙‍♀️🧙‍♂️🧙

This particular coven came to deliver a special Grimoire of spooky witch tales I won from Salt Lake Book Festival & Gibbs Smith Books !

With its glow in the dark cover, fabulous illustrations by Marina Vidal, and witchy tales retold by Alexis Powell 'A Coven of Witches' is perfect for spooky autumn nights. With a mix of stories from folklore, mythology, and history there's plenty of frights for multiple nights.

There's even a Fright Level rating at the beginning of each story which I absolutely love. Readers of different ages can choose their fright level before reading. Perfect!

Dreamweaving by O.O. Sangoyomi is everything I want in a YA Dark Academia novel.

An elite boarding school where the world's wealthiest have attended for hundreds of years. You can easily feel the snobbery of the place and the overwhelming stress of being a student there too.

A small group of central characters whose diverse personalities are multi-layered and continue to reveal different layers throughout.

A multi-faceted plotline with two distinct threads. One serving as the catalyst for bringing the characters together, the other serving the development of the relationship between those characters.

Consistent pacing, an intriguing plotline that kept me fully engaged, and a touch of the supernatural sprinkled throughout.

This was a solid 5 star read for me which hooked me from the beginning and didn't let go until the end. When I say Let Go, I mean it. The end shocked me by how abruptly it cut off! There's so much unresolved I genuinely hope this is the first in a duology because I need to know what happens next.
