The Grant County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a Physical Assessment Test for a new Merit List on:

This assessment will use the new obstacle course-style physical fitness standard established by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
The ILEA has changed its physical fitness standards to an obstacle course-style assessment. To familiarize yourself with the course, visit the ILEA website and click on the Physical Fitness Standard link on the left side of the page. There is a video available that explains and demonstrates the course.
We are still accepting applications. If you show up the day of the event and do not already have an application turned in, we will provide one for you to complete.
✅ There is no maximum age limit.
✅ Must be at least 21 years of age upon graduation from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
✅ Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
✅ Must possess a valid driver’s license.
✅ Must be able to pass a background investigation, including criminal history, driving record, drug use, employment history, military service record, and polygraph.
Selected applicants will complete pre-basic training, the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, field training, and additional in-house training. The Sheriff’s Office provides the books, materials, and uniforms needed during the training process.
