Marion leadership and community members welcomed the city’s newest hire Monday morning following a months-long wait.

Marion Police Department Chief Brian Ferrante officially started work Monday, filling a post that had been vacant for nearly a year. Marion Mayor Danny Loyola previously said Ferrante was scheduled to start work in October 2025 pending a background check and additional procedural steps. The wait finally ended last week, Ferrante said.
