🚜🌱 Lawn Mower & Tractor Safety Reminder 🌱🚜

With warmer weather here, we’re seeing more riding lawn mowers and tractors out and about. While they’re great tools, they can also be dangerous if not used properly. Here are a few important safety reminders to keep everyone safe:

🔹 One seat = one rider
Riding mowers and tractors are designed for a single operator. Extra riders especially children can easily fall off and be seriously injured.

🔹 Watch where you’re mowing
Avoid steep slopes, ditches, and uneven ground where equipment can tip over. Always mow up and down slopes, not side to side.

🔹 Keep a clear zone
Make sure children, pets, and bystanders are well away before starting. Objects can be thrown from blades at high speeds.

🔹 Wear proper gear
Closed-toe shoes (no sandals), eye protection, and hearing protection go a long way in preventing injuries.

🔹 Shut it down safely
Always turn off the mower and remove the key before getting off or clearing debris.

A few extra minutes of caution can prevent serious injuries. Let’s keep our community safe this season! 💚

Our EMS response area is expecting 6-12 inches of snow due to the impending snowstorm. We ask for your patience and understanding as road conditions become hazardous, potentially leading to delays in EMS response to emergencies. The safety of our responders and our community is our first priority. Please avoid unnecessary travel, use extra caution if you must be on the roads and call 911 for any true emergencies.
