What a FANtastic Hometown Fair Weekend! ☀️

Congratulations to the Hometown Fair and 10k Run committees who worked so hard to keep this cherished community tradition alive. Many thanks to our MBPD and MBFD who kept us all safe during a challengingly hot weekend.

I hope you were able to make it to DTMB to walk through some of the most amazing, unique, and beautiful vehicles to take part in the MBPD Car Show. This event benefitted the MBPD K9 Foundation, a wonderful non-profit that supports MBPD’s current, future, and retired canines. I wasn’t able to photograph our K9 force because there were so many adoring kids surrounding them. 🐾🐕

We are so lucky to have community events like this that bring us together to support programs that benefit all of our residents.

I’m supporting Our Neighborhood Voices at the CalCities Annual Conference. As a voting delegate representing MB City Council (in case it wasn’t obvious to some), I’ll be voting to support the Murrieta Resolution, which directs the League of California Cities to establish a statewide working group to evaluate a constitutional amendment or other legislative, policy, or ballot-based strategies to restore and strengthen local authority over housing and land use

(And did you all know that our monument is made from actual beams from the World Trade Center?)

This September 11, the Manhattan Beach community will come together to remember the lives lost, honor the courage of first responders, and reflect on the strength and unity shown in the face of tragedy.

We invite our community to join the Manhattan Beach Fire and Police Departments for this year’s 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. 🇺🇸
