This morning we celebrated our two newest Paramedic/Firefighters joining our family, Jacob Bauer and Cody Martin, who both started in March. Please say hello if you see them out and about!

We also want to take a moment to recognize International Firefighters Day and thank all those who serve.

What better way to celebrate International Firefighter's Day than to welcome two new firefighters to our organization! This morning we gathered for a pinning ceremony with family and friends. International Firefighter's Day is observed to honor the courage and sacrifices firefighters make worldwide.

We collaborated with Metro West Fire Protection District, St. Louis County Missouri and Monarch Fire Protection District for the safety of the community we serve.

Three neighboring fire departments in St. Louis County are adopting a new alert system. HAAS Alert is designed to keep drivers and first responders safe by notifying them when an emergency vehicle is nearby.

West County EMS & Fire Protection District is taking road safety in Manchester to the next level with Safety Cloud by . This technology sends digital alerts to nearby drivers when our emergency vehicles are responding to an incident. You'll receive these alerts directly on your in-dash system if you drive a 2024 or newer model of Volkswagen vehicles or 2018 and newer models of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM, or through popular navigation apps like Waze and Apple Maps.

By giving you extra time to slow down and move over, Safety Cloud helps reduce collision risks by up to 90% and supports compliance with Missouri Move Over laws. Let's work together to make our roads safer for everyone - share with friends and family to spread the word.

A message from Chief Sadtler:

2025 was a historic year for West County in two notable ways. For the first time, the district eclipsed 8000 calls for service, which represents a 30% increase compared to the 5683 calls we responded to in 2015. The district also successfully transitioned to the consolidated accounting fund effective January 1, 2025 and enjoyed the simplified, more transparent system.
