Mills SWCD State Cost Share Rule Changes

Mills Soil and Water Conservation District (Mills SWCD) through the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) can provide financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits such as improved water and air quality and reduced soil erosion and sedimentation.
The Mills SWCD board made a couple of changes to their cost share rules. Terrace work (new and rebuilds) cost share rate is now 50% of $3.25 per foot or 50% of the total bill, whichever is less. The total cost share limit per landowner is $18,000.00.
Cost share is offered through a continuous signup, first come-first served and applications are approved as funding allows. As of right now, there is not a waiting list for cost share dollars. If interested in cost share opportunities to install conservation practices, producers can stop by the NRCS, 204 West 5th Street, in Malvern to apply or call the office at 712-624-8606 ext. 3.
