The Mexico Community Fire Association would like to extend a huge thank you to the Healthcare Foundation of Miami County for their extremely generous donation of $20,812.36 to purchase a LUCAS 3.

What is a LUCAS 3?
The LUCAS 3 is an advanced, mechanical CPR device designed to deliver consistent, high-quality chest compressions during cardiac arrest. Unlike manual CPR, which can become difficult to maintain over long periods of time, the LUCAS device provides continuous, precise compressions without fatigue. This allows responders to focus on other critical life-saving tasks such as airway management, medication administration, and rapid transport to the hospital.

Having this equipment available significantly improves the level of care we can provide and helps give cardiac arrest patients in our community the best possible chance of survival.

The photos in this post are from a training session we held last night with a Stryker representative, where our members learned how to properly operate and integrate the LUCAS device into emergency responses.

We are incredibly grateful to the Healthcare Foundation of Miami County for investing in the safety and well-being of our community. Their support helps ensure that our firefighters and EMS responders have the tools they need to save lives.

Thank you for supporting Mexico Community Fire Association and the people we serve.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Beacon Credit Union for their generous donation toward the purchase of our new radios.

Reliable communication is critical in emergency services. Our radios are more than just equipment — they are a lifeline on accident scenes and emergency calls. They allow our firefighters and EMS personnel to coordinate safely, request additional resources, and ensure everyone goes home at the end of the day.

Because of Beacon Credit Union’s support, we are better equipped to serve and protect our community. We truly appreciate your commitment to local first responders and the citizens we proudly serve.

Last night, members of the Mexico Community Fire Association dedicated their evening to sharpening one of the most critical skills in emergency response — cardiac arrest management.

We reviewed high-performance CPR, airway management, AED use, team dynamics, and rapid patient assessment. Cardiac arrest calls are high stress and time sensitive, and strong training is what makes the difference when seconds truly matter. Our crews practiced coordinated compressions, effective ventilations, rhythm recognition, and smooth transitions during simulated resuscitation scenarios.

Training like this ensures we are prepared to deliver immediate, lifesaving care to the residents of Mexico and Jefferson Township when it matters most.

We’re proud of our members for continuing to put in the time and effort to stay ready. When the tones drop, preparation makes all the difference.

We are very grateful to Sharpsville Fire Department for the tanker! This truck will be in service soon and add an additional 2500 gallons of water!

Tonight we had the privilege of handing over the ownership of Tanker 46 to Mexico Community Fire Association. Glad to help out another Fire Department. Be safe out there!!!!
