☀️🍧 What a Great Day at Popsicles in the Park! 🍧☀️

The Cumby Police Department would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and joined us for Popsicles in the Park!

It was wonderful to see so many families, friends, and neighbors enjoying an afternoon filled with popsicles, hot dogs, laughter, and summer fun. From the bounce houses to the water activities, the smiles on everyone's faces made the event a tremendous success.

A special thank you to Hustlers Billiards and Pool Hall for their generous donation of all the popsicles and hot dogs for this event. Your support helped make this day possible, and we are incredibly grateful for your commitment to our community.

Events like this are a great reminder of what makes Cumby special—coming together, building relationships, and creating memories with one another.

We would also like to thank all of the volunteers, city staff, and community members who helped make this event such a success. Your support and participation are truly appreciated.

Thank you, Cumby, for helping us kick off summer in the best way possible! We look forward to seeing everyone at future community events. ☀️🌭🍧💙

🚨Cumby Police Department — Gunshots heard update:🚨

Last night many citizens heard gunshots and reported them to us and the Sheriff’s Office. Our officers and deputies checked the area and found the shots came from unincorporated land surrounding the city — outside Cumby’s city limits. That land allows for lawful, safe hunting on private county property. Please keep in mind hog hunting is common in our area. There was no danger to our community.

If you notice anything suspicious or have concerns, please call the Cumby Police Department non‑emergency line. For emergencies, always call 911 — Facebook is not monitored 24/7.

⚠️ Weather Alert: Stay Weather Aware ⚠️

The City of Cumby and the Cumby Police Department urge all citizens to remain weather aware today and throughout the evening.

Hopkins County is currently included in a Tornado Watch until 11:00 PM CDT, according to the National Weather Service. Severe weather can develop quickly, especially during this time of year in Texas.

Please make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather updates and alerts, including:

📺 Local news
📻 NOAA Weather Radio
📢 Wireless Emergency Alerts
👮 Official city and emergency management updates

Do not rely on outdoor sirens as your only source of warning. Be prepared to move to a safe place if a warning is issued for our area.

Please stay alert, stay safe, and continue to monitor trusted weather sources.

🚧 Upcoming Street Work Notice 🚧

The Cumby Police Department would like to inform our citizens that Commissioner Price and his Precinct 4 team will be in the area this week working to cut back trees along city streets. This work is being done in preparation for upcoming street repairs that will soon be underway.

Please use caution when traveling in these areas and be mindful of crews working. If you see the tree cutting machine in operation, please stay at least 100 feet away to help prevent possible damage to your vehicle.

We would also like to extend an early thank you to Commissioner Price and the Precinct 4 team for their assistance and dedication to helping improve our streets and making our city a better place for everyone.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these improvements take place.
