💙💛 Panther Nation,

It is difficult to put into words the impact that Mr. Gary Fisher had on Climax-Scotts Community Schools. For more than four decades, he dedicated himself to our students, athletes, staff, and community, leaving a legacy that continues to shape generations of Panthers.

Whether you knew him as Mr. Fisher, Coach Fisher, Athletic Director Fisher, or simply a friend, you likely experienced his encouragement, leadership, school spirit, and unwavering commitment to others. His influence extended far beyond the classroom and playing fields.

The Fisher family has invited all those whose lives were touched by Mr. Fisher to join them in celebrating his life and legacy. Climax-Scotts is honored to provide a place for family, friends, former students, colleagues, athletes, and community members to gather, share memories, and recognize a man who meant so much to so many.

His famous "Go, Fight, Win" spirit will forever be a part of Panther Family.💙💛🐾

A celebration of Gary's life will be held in the cafeteria at Climax-Scotts Jr. & Sr. High School, 372 S. Main St. Climax, MI 49034 on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 between 6pm – 8pm. The Fisher family is welcoming everyone that was touched by Gary, Mr. Fisher, Coach Fisher during his time with us. We look forward to seeing everyone.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to honor Gary's memory consider making a contribution to the Gary Fisher Athletic Memorial Fund. Donations may be made online at cscsf.org or mailed to Climax-Scotts Community Schools Foundation, 4704 S. 29th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.

The family extends its sincere gratitude for the many expressions of sympathy, support, and remembrance shared during this difficult time.

Mr. Appleton’s World Foods class wrapped up the semester by preparing two Colombian favorites: cheesy arepas and arroz con leche. Students mixed, shaped, stirred, and cooked their way through these traditional dishes while learning about the culture and cuisine of Colombia. A delicious way to end the year!

🚀 Preparing students for their future starts with career awareness today! This year, C-S students explored career pathways, strengthened educational development plans, participated in hands-on experiences, and connected classroom learning to future opportunities. These efforts were led by Mr. Brandon Haynes, Jr./Sr. High School Guidance Counselor, helping students discover their interests, strengths, and goals for the future.

🎨➕ Math in Action! ➕🎨
Mrs. Newland’s 7th Grade Math students took their learning outside as they transformed the sidewalk into a giant classroom! Using colorful chalk, students worked in teams to solve and compare linear equations with and without parentheses, create visual models, and showcase their mathematical thinking.
From applying the distributive property to explaining each step of the solving process, these students demonstrated creativity, collaboration, and strong problem-solving skills. We love seeing learning come to life in fun and engaging ways!

🎉❤️ This morning, the C-S Elementary Panther Family surprised Mrs. Peters with a festive walk-in to celebrate her retirement!

Mrs. Peters has made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and staff members throughout her years of service. While we will certainly miss seeing her each day, we are excited for her as she begins this well-deserved new chapter.

Thank you, Mrs. Peters, for your dedication, kindness, and commitment to our Panther Family. We wish you all the happiness, relaxation, and adventure that retirement brings! 🐾
