Training never stops in the fire service. 🚒🔥

Every drill, every rep, and every scenario helps prepare our firefighters to respond safely, quickly, and effectively when our community needs us most. What you see on scene starts long before the tones drop - it starts with dedication, teamwork, and continuous training.

We train hard because lives depend on it.
Thank you to our members for their commitment to protecting and serving our community every day.

🌳 The City of Hartford is proud to once again be recognized as a 2025 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation!

This recognition highlights Hartford’s continued commitment to planting, maintaining, and celebrating trees throughout our community. Trees play an important role in improving air quality, reducing stormwater runoff, providing shade, enhancing neighborhoods, and supporting the health and well-being of our residents.

The Tree City USA program is celebrating its 50th year of recognizing communities dedicated to urban forestry and environmental stewardship. Hartford is honored to be part of this growing movement toward healthier, greener, and more resilient communities.

Thank you to everyone who helps care for and support Hartford’s beautiful trees and green spaces! 🌲💚

After a successful fundraising campaign, the Hartford Skate Park’s highly-anticipated expansion is underway! An extension pad has been poured, and equipment is expected to arrive sometime mid-June. Installation of the new additions is expected to take approximately one week.

The Hartford Parks & Recreation Department would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the groups and individuals who helped this dream become a reality. We know the youth who utilize the skate park, who were also heavily involved with the fundraising efforts, are especially excited to see and enjoy the upgrades.

Hartford Electric has been recognized with a national Safety Award of Excellence from the American Public Power Association, the organization that represents public power utilities across the United States.

APPA’s safety awards highlight utilities that demonstrate strong safety practices, solid training, and a commitment to keeping workers safe on the job. Our crew works in a challenging and often dangerous environment, and this recognition reflects the effort they put into working safely every single day.

Congratulations to Hartford Electric for earning national acknowledgment for keeping safety a top priority and for the work they do for our community.

As the weather warms up and spring is in full swing, lawns across the City of Hartford are growing quickly. Keeping up with regular lawn mowing and yard maintenance plays an important role in maintaining the beauty, safety, and pride of our community.

A well-maintained lawn not only improves curb appeal, but also helps prevent pests, reduces allergens, and keeps neighborhoods looking clean and welcoming for residents and visitors alike. Taking a few extra moments each week to mow and care for your property helps preserve the high standards that make Hartford such a great place to live.

While “No Mow May” has become a popular trend in some areas, residents are reminded that the City of Hartford does not recognize a “No Mow May” exception to property maintenance requirements. Grass and weeds should continue to be maintained throughout the season in accordance with local ordinances.

As we head into another beautiful Wisconsin summer, we thank residents for doing their part to keep Hartford looking its best.

Together, we can continue to make our community a place we are all proud to call home.

Last week, the Hartford Water Utility had a contractor pressure wash the exterior of the water tower at Hwy K and Monroe Ave. This cleaning is part of a routine maintenance cycle we perform every 3 to 4 years to keep the tower in good condition.

The underside of the bowl always looks dirtier than the top because rain, dew, and humidity run down the tower and collect underneath, creating a damp spot where dust, pollen, and algae like to stick, while the top stays cleaner because it dries out quickly in the sun.

This work is strictly exterior maintenance and does not affect the water inside the tower. Keeping the exterior clean helps protect paint and coatings, slows corrosion, and lets us spot small issues before they turn into bigger repairs.
