Hartford Electric recently extended its Long-Term Power Supply Contract with WPPI Energy through 2073. This gives WPPI the ability to continue planning and investing in long-term generation
and transmission resources that can help keep power costs competitive and provide greater rate stability for its members.

WPPI has been a great partner for Hartford Electric since 1980. Being part of WPPI gives us access to a diverse and cost-effective power supply that we could not secure on our own. That partnership is a major reason Hartford has been able to maintain competitive electric rates over the years.

I recently delivered Hartford’s signed contract extension to WPPI President and CEO Mike Peters. We’re happy to continue the partnership and look forward to the benefits it will provide Hartford
Electric and our customers for many years to come.

The City of Hartford Plan Commission, at their August 10, 2026, meeting, approved the Conditional Use Permit, Site Plan, and Architectural Plan for The Neighborhood Mechanic.

The Neighborhood Mechanic will be located at 30 South Pike Lake Drive. 30 South Pike Lake Drive is the site of the former Coffee Trader stand.

The finance office took time this week to celebrate Rebecca Rose who is expecting a baby girl this September! They sprinkled her with a gift and a taco lunch. We all cannot wait to meet her and see how big brother Levi falls into his new role. 💜

Thank you to everyone who participated in this August’s election! The City of Hartford saw a 29.64% voter turnout this year.

For comparison:
2024 August Primary: 37.04%
2022 August Primary: 38.97%

Each year, the Hartford Parks & Recreation Department relies on the generosity of community sponsors to help keep costs manageable for all Youthball participants.
