Columbia Gas’ contractor, Utility Services Group, is in Mount Wolf and Manchester Boroughs, as well as East Manchester Township, televising sanitary and storm lines, looking for natural gas cross bores. A natural gas cross bore is an inadvertent intersection of a gas line and either a sanitary or storm line. The inspection is a part of a statewide safety program. Most of the time, customers do not need to be involved. If a gas cross bore is found, there is no cost to the customer for remediation. For more information on cross bores, visit www.columbiagaspa.com/safety/natural-gas-safety/sewer-line-safety or email [email protected]. If you believe you have a cross bore, please call 1-888-460-4332.

Clog Woes!
Our team responded to a clog this morning in a neighborhood, and let's just say it wasn't caused by toilet paper. Here are a couple photos of what our crew pulled out. The first couple of photos are at the manhole that was clogged. After flushing the line to clear the clog, all of the non-flushable items that were backed up flowed through to a pump station, causing issues there as well.

The sewer system is not a trash can - please only flush toilet paper and human waste. Wipes of any kind, feminine hygiene products, grease, food scraps, paper towels, etc. cause clogs, equipment damage, costly repairs, and messy backups.
