City of Magnolia water bills will be mailed the week of November 3rd, with a due date of November 20th. This billing cycle covers water usage from September 15 to October 15.

A resident in the Decker Woods subdivision reported they were burning trash this afternoon when the fire escaped and set their home on fire.

Fire crews from the Montgomery County ESD No. 10/Magnolia Fire Department were able to quickly bring the fire under control but not before the damage was done.

The burning of trash or refuse in subdivisions is prohibited at all times in Montgomery County. Violators face fines of $500 or more and even arrest depending on the circumstances of their fire escaping and starting a wildfire.

In general, all burning is prohibited year round unless it meets one of the narrow exceptions found in State law.

Other counties that don’t have that year round prohibition have to enact burn bans.

Do not rely on what others say or any website other than an official Montgomery County website.

The City of Magnolia is accepting citizen applications for its Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Committee, which helps guide how local hotel tax revenues are invested to promote tourism, special events, and projects that attract visitors to Magnolia.

This committee is appointed by City Council.

What the HOT Committee Does:
🏨 Reviews and recommends funding for events and activities that bring visitors to Magnolia.
🎭 Helps support tourism, arts, and cultural initiatives that enhance our community’s visibility.
📈 Advises City Council on eligible uses of Hotel Occupancy Tax funds under state law.

Who Can Apply:
Applicants should have an interest or background in tourism, hospitality, business, the arts, or community events. City residency or local business involvement is preferred.

📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED📣
The City of Magnolia is seeking residents who are currently served by the City’s water system and live in a home built between 1982 and 1988 to assist with lead and copper water testing.

These volunteers will be asked to randomly supply water samples to the City which will then be sent to TCEQ for lead and copper testing. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) mandates random lead and copper water sampling under the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR), requiring water systems to test samples from specific high-risk locations within homes (like kitchen faucets after a stagnant water period). These samples are analyzed by accredited labs, and results are reported to the public and the state to ensure drinking water safety. The process includes selecting targeted sites based on plumbing materials and potentially a materials survey, and collecting samples under strict conditions to accurately measure lead and copper levels.

🚧 ATTENTION MOTORISTS – UPCOMING TRAFFIC SWITCH ON FM 1488 🚧

The traffic switch originally scheduled for September 10–11, 2025, was delayed by TxDOT and the FM 1488 contractor. The City of Magnolia has been notified that the work will now take place over two weekends. Please see the updated schedule below:

📅 Weekend 1: Friday, Oct 3 – Saturday, Oct 4
✅ Work expected to take 1 night only (Friday night into early Saturday morning).
➡️ Traffic west of Audubon Blvd will shift onto the new pavement (south side of FM 1488), extending through the SH 249 intersection to just east of Magnolia Ridge Blvd.
🛣️ Crews will place asphalt at Magnolia Ridge Blvd for the transition area and restriping.
↔️ A longer left-turn lane will be in place at Magnolia Ridge Blvd with this switch.

📅 Weekend 2: Friday, Oct 10 – Monday, Oct 13
