God’s great power is not only displayed in accounts of the Old Testament. If you follow Jesus, then the power of the Holy Spirit is available to you today. Acts 1:8 says you receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. The Holy Spirit is who empowers you to spread the gospel. He lovingly directs the intentions of your heart and the choices in your mind. You are not controlled like a robot, but rather transformed into a powerful, meaningful member of God’s family, motivated by the Spirit of God.

As you celebrate Pentecost, remember God has done great things in the past. Every page of the Bible proves it over and over. But the story doesn’t end there. God has given you an opportunity to join in His story and play a vital role that only you can play. God has made you perfectly suited for the exact thing He needs you to do for Him—and He gives you everything you need through the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray, asking God to give you opportunities to be a part of His story and display Holy Spirit power and love to a world who so desperately needs it.

True unity is built on both truth and compassion. Speaking truth in love is essential; love without truth is superficial, and truth without love is harsh. Paul calls believers to practice honesty, humility, and empathy, creating relationships that are deep, resilient, and Christ-centered.

Unity is not uniformity. We can agree on essentials while respecting differences in secondary matters. Compassion and sacrificial love strengthen bonds, allowing communities to flourish even amid disagreement. Conflict is not to be avoided; it is an opportunity to sharpen one another, build intimacy, and grow together.

By embracing truth and compassion, we create a safe environment for dialogue, accountability, and encouragement. Authentic unity is nurtured by a common purpose and a shared heart, aligned with God’s mission and values.

Fight from victory rather than fighting for victory. Jesus has already won the battle. Because of that, we can trust God. No weapon formed against us will prosper or succeed. Hold tightly to the shield of victory and to God’s right hand. Be obedient to what He is calling you to do.

His power strengthens you. His favor surrounds you. His protection covers you. His encouragement flows through you. His hand gives you peace and reminds you of His love. His presence assures you that He is with you in every step. And when everything is said and done, you will see that the victory belonged to God alone.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank You for Your amazing Word that strengthens me to keep fighting the good fight. I pray that the shield of victory You have given me will not sit unused, but will be lifted for Your glory. Help me to trust You in every battle and to remember that the final outcome has already been decided. Help me to seek You and Your right hand when things feel overwhelming. Through it all, may You receive all the glory. Amen.

Ephesians 6:16
"In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.”

OBSERVATION
While most of the armor of God is attached to our body, the shield of faith is something we choose how to use. In this verse, Paul was referencing the Roman soldier’s shield, long in length with curved edges to protect the whole body. Soldiers would sometimes dip the shield in water to extinguish the fiery arrows launched by their enemies. Paul reminds us that just as we have spiritual weapons, the devil also has fiery arrows he aims to take us out. But we have the ultimate defense, which is our faith.

APPLICATION
Don’t just put on the armor, hold up your shield of faith. When the enemy shoots fiery arrows of lies, deceit, temptation, or fear, lift up your shield. Defend yourself by clinging to the truth of God and placing your trust fully in Him. Allow God to be your great defender and protector because He has already won the battle.

PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are our great defender. Today, we pick up our shield of faith and place our trust fully in You. Continue to guard our hearts and minds from the fiery arrows of the devil. Strengthen our faith as we dive into Your Word and live it out each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

BE THE ONE WHO RETURNS

In the story of the ten lepers, only one turned back — Jesus noticed and asked, “Where are the nine?” (Luke 17:18, KJV). That question still searches congregations and homes today. I want you to decide, ahead of time, that you will be the one who returns — promptly, publicly, and precisely — to give glory to God. Thanksgiving is not a polite footnote; it is glory returned to the rightful Owner. When you withhold thanks or direct it elsewhere, you misplace glory. Mature saints do not treat mercies as casual; they respond proportionately. Let your words and posture say, “This mercy is weighty to me, and my God will be glorified.”
