The Downtown Development Authority has officially approved a series of upgrades and repairs to the City of Madison Heights Clocktower.

At the last DDA meeting it was approve to move forward with enhancements that will upgrade functionality, improve visibility, and ensure its continued role as a defining landmark in our downtown.

These updates will include improved lighting, modernized mechanisms, and additional features designed to highlight the tower’s historic character while preparing it for the future.

We appreciate the community’s enthusiasm and patience, and we look forward to unveiling a refreshed Clocktower that reflects both our heritage and our ongoing commitment to a vibrant downtown.

Now Seeking Volunteers: Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)

The City of Madison Heights is currently accepting applications for vacancies on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
This is a volunteer opportunity for residents who want to play an active role in shaping the future of our community. The ZBA hears and decides requests related to zoning requirements, helping ensure that development and property use align with our city’s ordinances while considering unique circumstances.

Serving on the ZBA is a great way to:
• Contribute to thoughtful community development
• Support fair and consistent application of zoning regulations
• Be part of important decisions that impact neighborhoods and businesses right here in Madison Heights

The Zoning Board of Appeals works closely with the City’s Community & Economic Development team, which supports planning efforts and helps guide development across Madison Heights.

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, currently at 7:30 p.m. - although time is subject to change that the discretion of the board.
