We, as a nation, commemorate our living and deceased veterans on Veterans Day in the fall and Memorial Day in the spring; our service men and women sacrifice their time and safety every single day of the year to preserve our freedoms. And we think there is no better time to express our appreciation than during the hustle and bustle of the Christmas seaso

n. We hope you will join Riverside Cemetery on December 16, 2017 for a wreath laying ceremony to honor all of our fallen heroes. If you would like to sponsor a wreath to be laid at the grave of a US Military veteran at Macon's Historic Riverside Cemetery and Conservancy on National Wreaths Across America Day, please mail your check, made payable to Wreaths Across America, to the cemetery. Box 373 Macon, GA 31202. If you want this wreath placed on a specific grave at Riverside, please note the name of the deceased on your check or call the office @ (478) 742-5328.

The courage and sacrifice of our military veterans should never be forgotten. This past Saturday we got a chance to show them our appreciation and gratitude as live balsam wreaths were laid on the graves of 672 veterans interred in Historic Riverside Cemetery. Thank you to everyone on your continued support of our veterans at Riverside Cemetery.

Every year since 2008, Congress proclaims a Saturday in December as National Wreaths Across America Day. This year’s Wreaths Across America Day will take place on December 16th. Join us at noon as we honor our veterans. This year over 2 million wreaths will be placed across Local, National and Military Cemeteries as well as Veterans’ Memorials and historic sites.

The courage and sacrifice of our military veterans should never be forgotten. This past Saturday we got a chance to show them our appreciation and gratitude as live balsam wreaths were laid on the graves of 442 veterans interred in Historic Riverside Cemetery. There are just a few days left to sponsor a wreath to honor a veteran at Historic Riverside Cemetery during the Wreaths Across America event that will take place Dec. 17.
Wreaths cost $15 each and can be purchased online. The final day to purchase a wreath for this year’s ceremony is Nov. 29. Any wreaths purchased after this date will be included in the 2023 ceremony.

The annual Giving in July campaign is an opportunity to "do good twice" through the sponsorship of veterans’ wreaths through the organization’s $5 Back Group Sponsorship Program.

Through the program, donations received in fact ‘do good twice’ because WAA gives back $5 of each $15 wreath sponsorship made to support the local group’s own mission, which include programs helping veterans, military families, youth and more, in communities across the country.
