After spending a great evening with so many families at the July 3rd Independence Celebration in Macclenny, I started thinking about the best way to continue connecting with our community this summer. Rather than hosting a traditional meet and greet, I felt it would be more meaningful to partner with the Baker County YMCA Board to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year.

I'm grateful to provide 200 free school supply kits for Baker County students.

Join us on Monday, August 3, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Keller Community Center Cafeteria in Macclenny to pick up your free school supplies.

📚As another school year begins, I hope this small effort helps make the start of the year a little easier for local families.

🇺🇸Thank you, Baker County, for another memorable Independence Day celebration!

It was amazing to see everyone who came out to celebrate. Families, friends, neighbors, and visitors enjoying the evening together was a wonderful reminder of what makes our community special.

The turnout was unbelievable, and it is important to remember that events like this don't happen without the hard work of our city staff, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, first responders, county staff, and everyone who helped make it a success. A heartfelt thank you to the Baker County Chamber of Commerce for the countless hours of planning and coordination that helped make this year's celebration great!

It is an honor to serve a community that takes pride in coming together to celebrate our country and one another.

One of my favorite parts of celebrating Independence Day is seeing our community come together.

If you are headed to Memorial Park tonight, be sure to take some time to visit with me, enjoy the food, and have a great time with our neighbors. Events like this are a great reminder of what makes Baker County such a special place to call home.

Leadership is built through experience, responsibility, and service.

As a County Commissioner, contractor, missionary, husband, father, and grandfather, I have spent years serving Baker County and working to strengthen the community I proudly call home.

I believe in keeping our community at the heart of every decision I make. While every decision may not be the most popular, I can promise it will always be guided by what I believe is in the best interest of our hometown and the generations that will call it home after us.
