Starting June 1st, the New York State DOT will begin work on the Route 14 bridge over CSX Railroad. The bridge will remain open at this time with one lane traffic. Please plan accordingly as there will be delays.

Please note that traffic will be delayed on Route 14 from May 26th - 29th in between the hours of 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM for water valve and water line replacements. Please expect delays.

If you happen to see this young lady out and about in your neighborhood, please know that she has obtained a Peddler/Solicitor License. She requested that we take a picture of her with her car and license as it is an out of state plate. She is out selling educational resources, books, apps, leadership program materials and a family Bible library. She is part of the Southwestern Advantage group which provides college students’ summer employment.

The WCWSA just informed the Town that there was a water valve that broke which caused them to have to shut the water off on Canal Street between Catherine Street and Geneva Street. This was an emergency shut down due to the break.

This is separate from the other work that is being done on Canal Street that City Hill is doing.

They anticipate the water being restored early afternoon.

For anyone that has not seen the post on our official web page lyonsny.gov; the Town of Lyons will be picking up brush between now and May 28th for the Town Center residents.

Please place brush piles at the curb without blocking sidewalks or streets. This includes tree branches, limbs, shrubs, bushes trimmed from your yard, leaves and small twigs bundled together.

This is the Spring pick up time. There will be another in the Fall.

Please note that the Cole Road bridge deck repair will start on Tuesday, May 12th.

Traffic flow will be affected as the bridge will be operating as a one lane bridge controlled by a timed traffic light during construction.

There may be delays. Please use alternate routes to avoid delays.

The exact duration depends on weather conditions and any unforeseen issues during construction. Typically, such repairs take several weeks to complete. Please be patient.

Please take notice of the following 2026 Polling place changes. The Town of Lyons will be voting at the Wayne County Public Safety Building this year due to construction at the Lyons Community Center.

Please take notice that the contractor for the water valve replacement project, City Hill Excavating Inc. will be continuing work on Montezuma Street. On Wednesday, April 22nd water will be interrupted from Canalview to Geneva Street. This also includes Scott Street. Thank you for your patience.
