I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who came out to Pizza & Politics tonight at the Landrum Historic Train Depot.

Although I was unable to attend due to my commitment at the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers Annual Conference, I was encouraged to hear about the great turnout and the positive conversations that took place throughout the evening.

Most importantly, thank you for being so gracious and welcoming to my wife, Jessica, as she stood in for me and delivered my remarks. Public speaking and representing a candidate is no small task, and I am incredibly proud of the job she did. Your kindness, support, and encouragement meant a great deal to both of us.

One of the things I value most about District 5 is the quality of its people. Events like tonight remind me why I am running—to serve a community that cares, engages, and comes together to discuss the future of Spartanburg County in a respectful and meaningful way.

Thank you again to everyone who attended, asked questions, shared ideas, and helped make the evening a success. I look forward to being back home soon, meeting with many of you in person, and continuing our conversations as we approach Primary Election Day on June 9th.

I am honored by your support and grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust and your vote.

You can vote early for the remainder of this week and then on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

As your next Spartanburg County Council District 5 representative, I look forward to serving every corner of our district—from Landrum, Lyman, Inman, Campobello, Wellford, and Duncan, to our neighbors in the Spartanburg County portion of Greer. I will only have limited areas in Wellford and Duncan as the majority of these areas are in an adjoining district

One of my priorities is ensuring that every community has a strong voice at the table. For far too long, many residents on the Spartanburg County side of Greer have been underrepresented due to their proximity to Greenville County. Those families, businesses, and community members deserve the same attention, advocacy, and service as every other part of District 5.

I am committed to listening, learning, and working hard for all of District 5. Together, we can build a stronger future while preserving the values and quality of life that make our communities special.

I would be honored to earn your vote in the Republican Primary on June 9th. Early voting is also available, and every vote matters.

Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and the opportunity to serve.

While I deeply regret that I cannot be there in person this evening, my wife, Jessica Cobb, will be standing in for me and delivering my stump speech.

I am currently attending the 2026 National Association of County Veteran Service Officers Annual Conference, where I am continuing to learn the latest and most effective ways to provide world-class service and support to the veterans and families we serve in Spartanburg County. This conference, along with future conferences already planned over the next two years, is an invaluable resource that helps my staff and me stay informed, innovative, and prepared to meet the evolving needs of our veteran community.

My commitment to continuous learning and professional development is not limited to my work with veterans. It reflects the same dedication I will bring to the Spartanburg County Council—always willing to learn, listen, and seek out the best solutions for our community. I believe effective leadership requires staying informed, embracing new ideas, and making decisions based on what is in the best interest of the citizens we serve.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. I look forward to returning home soon, meeting with many of you personally, and celebrating a successful Primary Election on June 9th as we continue our campaign for Spartanburg County Council District 5.

I hope there will be a great crowd tonight. Come enjoy some pizza, meet your neighbors, and participate in a positive discussion about the future of our community.

Your voice matters, your participation matters, and together we can continue building a stronger Spartanburg County.

First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who shared my previous post and reached out with supportive comments, emails, phone calls, and messages. Your encouragement, friendship, and confidence mean more to me and my family than I can adequately express. I am truly grateful for your support.

Over the past few days, I've had a lot of conversations with people throughout District 5. Some have asked about my background, and I wanted to take a moment to share again a little about who I am.

My life has been defined by service, not politics.

I joined the United States Marine Corps while I was still in high school. After completing my Marine Corps service, I joined the South Carolina Army National Guard. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, I returned to active duty and continued serving our nation. After more than 20 years in uniform, I retired from military service in April 2020.

Service did not end with retirement. I have been blessed to participate in mission trips to developing countries, helping communities in need and working alongside people to improve lives and strengthen local communities. Those experiences reinforced my belief that service is not about titles or recognition—it is about helping others and making a positive difference wherever you can.

Today, I continue that commitment as Director of Spartanburg Veterans' Affairs, where I have the privilege of serving the men and women who defended our freedoms and the families who supported them.

My campaign has never been about politics. It has been about people. It has been about listening, answering questions, being accessible, and working to make Spartanburg County the best place possible to live, work, and raise a family.

You may not agree with me on every issue, and that's okay. Reasonable people can disagree and still work together for the good of our community. What I hope is that you'll take the time to get to know me, my record, and my commitment to serving others before making a decision.

I don't claim to have all the answers, but I do promise that I will always be honest, approachable, and willing to listen.

If you have questions, reach out. If you want to meet, let's talk. If you want to know where I stand on an issue, ask.

I would be honored to earn your support and your vote for Spartanburg County Council District 5.

Together, we can continue building a stronger community that honors service, values integrity, and works for the benefit of all our citizens.

Early voting is still open!

Today, I was accused of being a "career politician," and I would like to address that directly.

My career has not been in politics—it has been in service.

I joined the United States Marine Corps while I was still in high school. After completing my service in the Marine Corps, I enlisted in the South Carolina Army National Guard. While serving in the Guard, our nation experienced the attacks of September 11, 2001. In response, I returned to active duty and continued serving our country in the fight against terrorism and in defense of the freedoms we all cherish.

After more than 20 years of military service, I retired in April 2020.

Service has never been something I turn on and off based on a job title. Throughout my life, I have looked for opportunities to help others whenever and wherever I could. In addition to my military service, I have participated in multiple mission trips to developing countries, working alongside local communities to provide assistance, support community projects, and improve the lives of people facing significant challenges. Those experiences reinforced my belief that service is about helping people, regardless of where they live or what circumstances they face.

Retirement did not mark the end of my commitment to service. Instead, I transitioned into serving those who had served alongside me. I dedicated myself to helping veterans and their families receive the benefits, support, and recognition they earned through their sacrifices.

In 2022, following the unexpected passing of the Director of Spartanburg Veterans' Affairs, the position became available. Several qualified individuals applied, and I was humbled and honored to be selected to lead the office. Since then, I have worked every day to ensure that Spartanburg County veterans and their families receive the highest level of care, service, and support possible.

If defending our nation, protecting freedom, serving veterans, supporting military families, helping communities in need around the world, and investing in our local community makes me a "career politician," then perhaps we need more people willing to dedicate their lives to service.

I have also heard comments suggesting that because I am active on Facebook and frequently answer questions from constituents, I must be spending large amounts of money on my campaign. That simply is not true.

To date, my campaign has spent less than $3,000. More than $900 of that was the required filing fee. The remaining funds have primarily gone toward yard signs, business cards, and refreshments for a community Meet & Greet event. I have not spent thousands of dollars on mass mailers, automated text messaging campaigns, extensive advertising, or boosted social media posts like many campaigns do.

I have intentionally run a grassroots campaign focused on accessibility, transparency, and direct engagement. I believe the people of Spartanburg County should choose their representative based on character, qualifications, and commitment to service—not based on who can spend the most money.

If you have questions, I answer them. If you have asked to meet with me, I have either done so or made every effort to do so. If you want to know where I stand on an issue, ask. I welcome honest conversations and respectful dialogue.

What I ask in return is simple: take the time to get to know me before making assumptions about who I am or what I stand for.

My personal page is public. My LinkedIn profile is public. My campaign page is public. I have nothing to hide, and I am proud of my record of service.

I would love to earn every vote, but I also understand that no candidate can be everything to everyone. We all have different priorities, perspectives, and opinions. That is part of what makes our community strong.

If, after getting to know me, you believe I am the right person to represent District 5, I would be honored to earn your vote for Spartanburg County Council.

My commitment has always been simple: serve others, put the community first, and work every day to make Spartanburg County a better place for all of us.
