Good morning!

Thank you once again to everyone who supported EJ with a yard sign!

The campaign team has been diligently working on removing them, and should have most taken down. However, if you have one in your yard that’s been missed please take it down by this Wednesday, June 11.

You may see our campaign team members collecting them this week, if they’re still up, this is to ensure that we meet the required deadline of political signs being taken down after an election.

Reach out to any team member if you have any questions or need any help!

Thank you all!

To the voters of District 3 ~ Thank You, I am humbled..

Tonight, the Majority of District 3 stood with me, and I am humbled beyond words. But more than a win, what I feel tonight is responsibility, to unite this community.

This was a hard season. Our district is small, and many of our neighbors are doing their best to get by. People should never feel afraid to speak up, to participate, or to stand for what they believe in. Fear and intimidation have no place here, not in our politics, and not in our community. That ends now.

I want every person in this district to know: you have a seat at this table. Whether you voted for me or not, whether we’ve known each other for years or we’re just getting acquainted, I am your supervisor, and I will work for you.

The road here was long and at times painful. But what carried me through was you, the neighbors who reached out, the friends who showed up, the people who refused to let untruths define this race. Now it’s time to build trust, restore calm, and get back to the work that actually matters: serving the people of this district.

I’ll be at Summer Days in Upper Lake this Saturday, June 6, notebook ready. Your ideas and concerns are what shape the work I do — so come tell me what matters to you. When your voice is heard, this whole community gets stronger.

Let’s unite, and let’s move forward, together.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

E.J. Crandell

To the People of District 3 ~
Long before there were county lines or district boundaries, there was this land. My people have called it Xabatin for nineteen thousand years. I grew up understanding that to serve this place is not a privilege granted by an election, it is a responsibility carried in the blood, answered in the bones. That is why I ran eight years ago. That is why I am asking for your trust again today.

I do not take lightly what it means to hold this office. Every vote cast on your behalf, every decision made at that table, every hard conversation I have walked into; I have carried all of it with the full weight of what it means to be entrusted with something sacred. This community is sacred to me. You are sacred to me.

We Have Weathered This Together ~
These past eight years have not been gentle ones. We have watched fires consume the hillsides we love. We have buried neighbors, closed schools, and sat with a silence that a pandemic brought over all of us. None of it was easy. None of it was fair.

And through all of it, this community did not break. It bent —,sometimes hard; but it did not break. Because the people of District 3 are not built for surrender. They are built for one another. I have watched you show up in ways that humbled me. In that spirit, I showed up too. Not perfectly. Not without struggle. But honestly, always uttermost honesty.

There were decisions I made that not everyone agreed with. I understood that. Leadership is not about being liked in the moment, it is about being able to look your community in the eye years later and say: I did what I believed was right, and I told you the truth about why. I can say that today. I will be able to say it tomorrow.

We are still building. Some parts of this machine need cleaning, some need oiling, some need replacing altogether. But the direction is right, the foundation is solid, and the people doing the work are real. I am not finished.

To Everyone Who Has Stood With Me ~
I am humbled, genuinely and deeply humbled; by the breadth of support this campaign has received. From Congressman Mike Thompson and Senator Mike McGuire, to our Assemblymembers, Ramos, Valencia and Connolly, our fellow Supervisors, Rasmussen, Owen, Sabatier and Pyska, our District Attorney, and our

Superintendent of Schools. From tribal leaders and community chairpersons who understand what it means to protect a people and a place. From neighbors who have known me my whole life and neighbors I have only just met.

Each name on our endorsement list represents a relationship, a story, a shared stake in where this district is headed. You did not have to stand here. You chose to. And I do not take that lightly.

To the people who put up signs, who made calls, who encouraged me on the hard days, thank you. This work has never been mine alone. It has always been ours.

Now I Am Asking You to Vote ~
This election will be decided by the people who show up. That is always how it works, and it is how it should work. I am asking you, respectfully and urgently, to make your voice heard. Bring someone with you. Remind a neighbor. Make the call you have been meaning to make.

Eight years ago, you gave me a chance to serve. What I give back to you, every day, without exception; is the truth. That covenant has not changed. It will not change.

Xabatin has endured for nineteen thousand years because the people who love it have always shown up for it. This is our moment to do the same.

With respect, gratitude, and unwavering commitment

Update 2:30 PM: Threat Determined Not Credible

The school threat investigation has concluded, and the threat has been deemed not credible.

Throughout the day, law enforcement agencies from across Lake County worked in close coordination with local school districts and the County of Lake Board of Education to conduct a comprehensive assessment of school campuses countywide.

Personnel from the Lake County Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol, Lake County Probation, Clearlake Police Department, Lakeport Police Department, CAL FIRE Law Enforcement, and California State Parole responded to schools throughout the county to assist with campus safety and security operations.

Additionally, the Napa County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad and Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad responded with explosive detection K9s and conducted thorough sweeps of each high school campus in Lake County.

Following these coordinated efforts, all campuses were cleared, and the threat was determined to be not credible.

While today's events caused understandable concern for students, families, school staff, and the broader community, the response demonstrated the strength of the partnerships that exist between our law enforcement agencies, school districts, and educational leaders. The safety of our students and school staff remains our highest priority, and every reported threat will continue to be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.

During the Sheriff’s Office's ongoing investigation, we determined this incident is not isolated to Lake County. Within the last month, several law enforcement partners across the State of California have responded to similar events and circumstances. We take all threats to our community and schools seriously and respond appropriately, even when other incidents in the state were determined to be not credible.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office would like to thank our law enforcement partners, the County of Lake Board of Education, local school districts, school staff, and our community members for their patience, cooperation, and support throughout today's incident.

The investigation into the source of the threats remains ongoing.

Update 10:40 AM School Threat Investigations

Since this morning's initial response at Lower Lake High School, similar threats have been reported involving additional high school campuses within Lake County. Law enforcement agencies and school officials are actively coordinating their response and investigating the incidents.

Each reported threat is being taken seriously and evaluated individually. Deputies, investigators, and specialized resources have responded to affected campuses and are actively working throughout the county to ensure the safety of our school communities.

Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of student and staff safety, some school districts have elected to close schools while law enforcement conducts a thorough assessment of each reported threat. School districts are independently evaluating conditions within their respective districts and making decisions regarding school operations.

Parents and guardians should monitor communications from their respective school districts for information regarding school closures, modified schedules, student release procedures, or other school-specific instructions.

At this time, there is no additional information available regarding the source or credibility of the threats. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

We understand this situation is concerning for students, families, staff, and the broader community. We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as law enforcement and education partners work together to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Additional updates regarding the law enforcement response will be provided as information becomes available.

Bomb Threat Investigation at Lower Lake High School

This morning, May 29, 2026, at approximately 6:30 AM, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported bomb threat at Lower Lake High School. Deputies are currently on scene, and the Major Crimes Unit is en route to assist with the investigation.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Napa County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad is also responding, along with a trained detection K9, to conduct a thorough sweep of the campus and surrounding areas.

The Konocti Unified School District has canceled school for the following campuses while the threat is under active investigation: Lower Lake High School, Lower Lake Elementary School, Carle High School, and Highlands Academy. Student and staff safety remains the top priority.

Community members are asked to avoid the area around Lower Lake High School to allow emergency personnel to safely conduct their investigation.

At this time, no additional information is available for release. We ask that community members do not call Dispatch for updates, as this can interfere with emergency operations.

Parents and guardians of students within the district have been notified directly by the school. For the most current updates on school operations, please follow official communications from the Konocti Unified School District.

We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
