Behind on rent or housing bills in Massachusetts? You could qualify for up to $7,000 in free assistance!

Whether you are renting an apartment OR owning a home, the state’s RAFT (Residential Assistance for Families in Transition) program exists to keep a roof over your head during tough times.
Here is what you need to know:

Who Qualifies?
Both Renters AND Homeowners residing in Massachusetts.
-Income Limit: Your household income must be at or below 50% Area Median Income (AMI) for your town.

Active Housing Crisis: You need proof of an eligible crisis—such as a Notice to Quit/eviction notice, past-due utility shutoff notice, or risk of mortgage default.

What Can the $7,000 Cover?
-Overdue rent arrears or mortgage payments
-Past-due electric, gas, or heating utility bills
-First/last month’s rent & security deposits if you are moving

Kids and adult- Get your 🚲 before summer ends !!

Transportation is a major hurdle for many families getting to work or school. The Bike Connector in Downtown Lowell provides safe and affordable bikes, tools, and education to the Greater Lowell community:

*Earn Your Bike (FREE): Teens and adults select a bike, refurbish it in the shop with provided tools, and keep it—along with a free helmet and lock! (Register: bit.ly/4fTSsMw)

*Buy Your Bike: Refurbished bikes start at $50, plus used and new parts are available.
Fix Your Bike: Learn to maintain and fix your bike at their workshop using shop tools and guidance. (Register: bit.ly/4g7oCTv)

*Learn & Recycle: They partner with Lowell Public Schools for youth riding programs and accept donations of unused bikes (bit.ly/4wqQtnW).
