The Goodbye Summer Arts Fest in Joe Creason Park put on by Louisville Parks & Recreation was awesome. And I heard a rumor it might be a new, annual event.

Our arts-centric community center, Metro Arts on Dixie Highway, is sooo good, but how can we bring that programming and community out of centers and into parks? Love this approach!

Following recent posts and coverage about the closure of the Historic Louisville Cemetery located at 1339 Poplar Level Road in District 10, our office has received many questions about the future of the cemetery. To help relieve any concerns please see what we know currently below:

At this time, the owner of the cemetery has shared his intention to close the cemetery as a business (leaving it open to the public). Once that legal process has been completed, we have been informed of the existence of a perpetual care fund that will kick in, where the bank can serve as trustee and fund the maintenance and upkeep of the cemetery, which includes mowing and landscaping. The property will remain a cemetery and the burial sites will not be disturbed.

Additionally, any presold plots will still be available for burials after the cemetery’s official closing.

For any further questions please contact on Facebook.
