DROP OFF JUNK FOR FREE!! Today in the Public Works Committee, Metro Solid Waste explained the ongoing program called: POP-UP, DROP OFF, that is held frequently around the county. Fellow Louisville Metro Council members, Jonathan Joseph and Tammy Hawkins and I, filed and passed a Bi-Partisan Resolution passed last night at Metro Council asking Gov Beshear to expedite the opening of the Downtown Juvenile Center. This center must open sooner than later! .

Statement on Participation in Metro Council Planning and Zoning Proceedings

As a member of the Louisville Metro Council, my role is defined in the law to listen to the record and gain knowledge of all zoning issues being discussed in the Metro (including my district). These cases ultimately come before the Metro Council and I will be one of the 26 members that make the final vote on the issue; therefore, I am unable to provide comments or express an opinion during any stage of the process (the result may be of which I lose my ability to participate) . If I as a Councilmember, make any prior engagement in the development of the record or any indication of a position, I could be disqualified from voting on the matter when it reaches the full Council.
I encourage all interested parties to actively participate in the process by sharing thoughts and concerns with the planning staff, either in person or through written communication. BLACK HISTORY HONOREE ..
Arieanna Washington, a wonderful and talented young lady from Fern Creek, received recognition and honors today at a special meeting of the Metro Council today. Her mother, LaKesha Washington (right) accompanied her to my office before the ceremony. I’ve known Arieanna for several years now and her resume becomes more impressive each year! .
