Spotlight on Mark von Kaenel

When Mark’s children attended the Los Gatos schools, Mark contributed his time and expertise to serving on the LGEF Board as the Head of Business Development. Mark engineered the very first sponsorship program that supported the schools by selling advertising space in the “Buzz Book,” a hard copy phone directory of parents. Mark was one of the first supporters of the Dean’s List of Real Estate Partners by inviting the LGEF team to present at his office. Thank you, Mark, for your talent and time spent on the Los Gatos schools and for your long term commitment as a part of the Real Estate Partners Program.

In addition to being a member of the Real Estate Program Leadership Circle, Mark is on the Los Gatos Education Foundation (LGEF) Board in his fourth year as Van Meter Co-Captain. He has two daughters, a 6th grader at Fisher and a 9th grader at Los Gatos High School. A realtor with Sereno group, he joined LGEF to ensure every student gets the support they need and to encourage other parents to get more involved. Spotlight on Kim Richman

Kim was recently voted the best real estate agent in Los Gatos by the Best of Los Gatos 2023. Kim has been giving to the schools of Los Gatos for 29 years since 1995 when her son entered kindergarten. Always ready to help, Kim gives not only financially, but also her time and energy – making calls for Parcel Tax Measure B to support Los Gatos Schools, serving on the LGEF Finance Committee, hosting a Giving Tuesday event, and providing a Giving Tuesday Match. Kim has been a Platinum donor supporting our Music Program, a Leadership Circle donor of the Real Estate Program since its inception, and even helped out with the 2023 LG Children’s Holiday Parade. Thank you Kim, for all you do for our schools here in Los Gatos!

Ducky and Amy have been Leadership Circle partners on our Dean’s List of Real Estate Partners since the beginning of the program. Before that even existed, Ducky and Amy helped orchestrate contributions to the schools from their real estate office through Sereno’s 1% Giveback Program. Providing more than just financial support, Ducky and Amy graciously offer to host events to bring our school community together. They have students at both Fisher and Van Meter - and we are lucky to have families like the Grabill-Hoefers in our schools! Denise Carr, a lifelong resident of Los Gatos, knows how important quality schools are to our town and has supported the Los Gatos schools for many years. Denise now has students at the Los Gatos High School as well as Fisher Middle School. Always a strong idea woman, it was Denise’s suggestion that led to a partnership with the Los Gatos High School Wildcat Foundation for the Real Estate and Business Programs, so that there can be one program supporting all students TK-12.
