How long will it take to get the necropsy report for bald eagle Jackie? We requested the necropsy report of P-22 when he died December 17, 2022. It was released August 24, 2023 eight months later. Hopefully Jackie's final necropsy report won't take that long but it could.

The physical necropsy was finished within a day of Jackie's death. They sent out samples for testing for poisons, metals, plastics and other toxins. It will take a while for all the experts, veterinarians to receive all the test results. Then they have to research and compose the final report. We requested Jackie's necropsy report August 10, 2026 the day she died. Eight months would be April 2027.

When we send our own animals out for necropsy, the main report is back within a few days. The lab results of tissue samples for poisons, toxins takes up to a week. Jackie's case is more involved so I'm sure they will do more testing than we generally do. Hopefully the report will answer questions to help other animals in the future besides giving everyone closure.

We went to check on the WeHo coyotes in the abandoned construction site on Spaulding. They appear to be gone. Property still accessible for coyotes so they may be back. Coyotes pups were old enough to follow parents last we saw them. We saw no food though the no feed signs were gone probably ripped off. We saw neighbor Beth who was interviewed for same news shows as us. She said she thinks they're gone. Spoke with another neighbor who also thinks they're gone. Sure someone just went in there and hazed them out. Anyone could have just walked in there and shooed them out of there. Glad problem is solved for now.

Thank you, Dolly. Dolly Parton spent 35 years supporting bald eagle rescue and conservation through a major partnership between her Dollywood theme park and the American Eagle Foundation. The Partnership and Conservation WorkEagle Mountain Sanctuary: Opened at Dollywood in 1991, this sanctuary served as a large home and presentation space for non-releasable bald eagles.Releasing Eagles: The partnership helped rehabilitate, track, and release more than 180 bald eagles into the wild in the Smoky Mountain region.Liberty's Release: In 2008, Dolly Parton famously took part in releasing a rehabilitated bald eagle named Liberty back into nature.Relocation to Kodak: Following severe storm damage to the original Dollywood sanctuary enclosure in early 2026, the resident bald eagles transitioned permanently to the American Eagle Foundation's larger Kodak, Tennessee campus. The foundation continues its educational presence at Dollywood's bird shows.

It’s getting worse. We’ve been in contact with them for a few months. Coyotes don’t go into traps and even humane snares are illegal. People are feeding it. Looks like bone cancer because eye is being pushed out of position. Will probably need to be euthanized 😞 We referred them to Ventura wildlife two months ago besides other coyote rescuers. We have catch poles, nets, humane snare, box trap...but they probably won't be able to be caught until they are on the ground. Only other option is to lure with food into a garage, close garage then crate. No equipment needed.

The coyote is suffering from an undiagnosed growth on its face.

Locals, have you see these large green beetles flying around? They aren't chasing you and they don't bite. Many think it's good luck if they land on you. If one lands on you, it'll just fly off again.

A species of notoriously clumsy insects has been spotted buzzing through Los Angeles skies this month. Figeater beetles (Cotinis mutabilis) are becoming more common across Southern California in Au…

One of our old squirrel rescues is in the Daily Mail

This is the heartwarming moment a woman in America saved a baby squirrel that was too young to provide for itself. Mary Cummins is seen feeding the young female squirrel after it lies prone on the pavement. This footage is from 2011.
