Tiny scientists, big ideas! ALA and Cummins Inc are inviting public libraries to apply for A Year of STEM, 12 months of curated STEM program kits designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in early childhood learners.

Twenty-five selected public libraries will receive a $5,000 programming stipend, four curated STEM kits delivered quarterly, a programming guide, and more. Everything needed to spark big (and fun!) learning moments for curious kids.

Applications are open now through October 28 at ALA.org/STEM

🗓️ Save the Date for the 2027 SCASL Conference!

It will be held from Wednesday, March 17th through Friday, March 19th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center (1101 Lincoln Street in Columbia, SC). SCASL is the only state organization advocating for the needs of school librarians and this conference is the only one in our state with professional development created primarily for school librarians. Join us to earn renewal credits, attend sessions, meet authors, network with colleagues, explore vendors, learn about advocacy, and explore SC book award nominees.
