My name is Iain Smillie, I am the last Caretaker of Prince Erik Hall. I am the creator of this page, and the copyright owner of all the images and content published on this page. I am currently in possession of what remains of all historical images both print, negative and film media that exists of the History of Prince Erik Hall and what media remains of the history of the Arcadia Congregational
Church. I was the last person to leave the property when the House was closed and sold to a developer in March 2020. I served as the P***c Awareness and Community Outreach Ministry Leader from 2010 to 2017. I originally came to the House in the Spring of 2008 when I renting the Master Bedroom as my Art Studio and to establish my freelance Graphic Art Design and Photography business. I invested my savings to start my Art Studio after leaving the Adult Entertainment Industry as a Studio Executive of 3 large Production Companies, and General Manager of several high profile Nightclubs and Bars. It was after several years living on the property that I accepted the duties and responsibilities of on site Property Caretaker. Basically, I was the only one willing and able to do what was necessary. The Church was slowly dying and could no longer afford to maintain the property due to the lack of human and financial resources. Yet somehow we managed to keep it going until the Pandemic finally forced the closure of the facility and the sale of the property. Repairs had became major expenses and the 100 year old home could no longer be fixed and was desperately in need of major renovations. To serve as the 24 hour on site Caretaker was a labor of love and a symbol of my pledge to my community and commitment to my higher power. I was payed no money, rather in exchange for my service, I had the privilege of serving my community and the honor of calling the house my home for 14 years. In the end, the house was destroyed in a 5 alarm fire at 3:30Am on June 13th. I was the one person whom the Police and Fire Dept contacted to inform of the fire. I was the only contact they had. It was my duty to notify the Pastor and the Church. The House is long gone. The buildings taken down. The Church has moved on. All that remains are the memories and the stories of the past to be told. I will do my best to recount the history i have learned over those 14 years. Stories that came first hand from the people that lived, worked and worshiped. Stories shared to me by an amazing Historian and Community Leader who founded the Local Historical Society and maintained an office for the final years. I will share those stories and all the images that remain. Prince Erik Hall, former home of the Prince and Princess of Denmark. The house that established a Church. A home that served a community. A place of memories, of weddings, of events and of people.. The Haus of Legends. This Page is not funded by any organization or by any grant.
