✨ We're celebrating Juneteenth with a free celebration on Saturday, June 20, from 3 PM to 7 PM at West Hollywood Park! ✨

This family-friendly event will honor the significance of Juneteenth through live entertainment, inspiring speakers, community organizations, vendor booths, and opportunities to support local Black-owned and BIPOC-owned businesses.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in the Confederacy learned of their freedom. It is a day to reflect on our nation's history, celebrate Black culture and resilience, and recommit to advancing equity, justice, and opportunity for all.

Today marks 10 years since the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, where 49 people were murdered and 53 others were injured in one of the deadliest acts of violence targeting LGBTQ+ people in U.S. history.

The Pulse tragedy was a devastating reminder that hatred and violence continue to threaten LGBTQ+ people, and that visibility, equality, and progress cannot be taken for granted. Every person deserves to live openly, authentically, and safely.

Today, the City of West Hollywood remembers the 49 lives lost, honors the survivors, and stands with the families and communities forever changed by this tragedy. As we mark this solemn anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to building a world free from hate, discrimination, and violence.

We will never forget.
