A new exhibition has landed at the West Hollywood Library! 🐦

Bird Circuit 90069 by Los Angeles-based artist Vojislav Radovanović explores q***r history, identity, and resilience through paintings and drawings inspired by the “bird circuit” — a coded naming tradition once used by LGBTQ+ bars to signal places of refuge and connection. 🏳️‍🌈

🦩 Several works nod to historic West Hollywood and Los Angeles spots, including the Red Raven, Blue Parrot, Club Flamingo, and Flamingos, reimagining that history through birds, portraits, and dreamlike landscapes.

📍 West Hollywood Library, 625 N. San Vicente Blvd.
🎨 On view through late January 2027
🥂 Reception: Friday, October 16, 7–9 PM

The City of West Hollywood joins people around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton, a beloved artist, songwriter, philanthropist, and longtime ally to the LGBTQ+ community. Dolly’s extraordinary talent was matched by her warmth, generosity, and enduring message of love and acceptance. For decades, she embraced people with compassion and without judgment, using her voice to affirm dignity, equality, and the simple belief that everyone deserves to be exactly who they are. Her legacy of music, kindness, and joyful authenticity will live on for generations. ♥️
