Every meaningful change begins with someone who believes things can be different.

Someone willing to speak up, challenge the familiar, and imagine what’s possible for their community.

That same passion that drives people to volunteer, advocate, organize, and stand up for others can also open the door to public service.

You may already be doing the work of a leader. Have you ever considered taking it to the ballot?

The Humane Party is looking ahead to future elections, and we’re inviting people to explore what that next step might look like.

The Humane Party is looking beyond a single election cycle, inviting people across the U.S. to explore whether local public office could become part of their advocacy.

🇺🇸 Independence Day reminds us that our country’s story is still being written.

May we continue striving toward a United States where compassion, justice, integrity, and humane leadership guide the future.

Happy Fourth of July! 🐾

🇺🇸 250 Years Later… The Promise Endures.

Today, the United States marks 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

The ideals proclaimed in 1776—life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—set a course that has shaped our country for generations. Yet the work of building a more just, compassionate, and inclusive nation has never been finished.

At the Humane Party, we believe the United States is strongest when it continues to grow: expanding justice, rejecting cruelty, protecting the vulnerable, stewarding the environment responsibly, and building a future where compassion guides public policy for people, animals, and the planet alike.

As we recognize this historic milestone, we honor those who have helped move our country closer to its highest ideals, and we recommit ourselves to the work still ahead.

Here’s to the next 250 years—and to building a United States more humane than the one we inherited.

Movements grow when people are willing to change.

Renee King-Sonnen’s journey from cattle ranch life to animal sanctuary founder is proof that compassion can rewrite even the most deeply rooted stories.

Before Renee King-Sonnen became a sanctuary founder, she lived on the other side of the fence. Her journey from Texas cattle ranch life to founding Rowdy Girl Sanctuary is a story of moral transfor…

Three horses were allegedly stabbed at a Las Vegas barrel racing event.

There is no way to make that sentence less ugly.

The horses survived, but survival is not the same as being unharmed. They were injured in a place where they were already being used, handled, hauled, stalled, and expected to perform for human purposes.

That part deserves more attention than it usually gets.

Violence against animals does not happen in a vacuum. It happens inside systems where their bodies are already treated as available — for sport, money, entertainment, control, ownership, competition, and spectacle.

The stabbing is the headline because it is shocking.

The deeper question is why animals keep being placed in human-made environments where their safety depends entirely on whether people behave decently.

Too often, they do not.

A teenage girl was arrested after allegedly using a sharp object to injure three horses during the 2026 NBHA Professional’s Choice Las Vegas Super Show on May 30.
