City Hall X Toastmasters provides a welcoming and encouraging space for women who work in or are affiliated with City of Los Angeles government. Our mission is to provide leadership opportunities and develop public speaking skills while facilitating a strong network to empower and propel the careers of women in City of Los Angeles government and work toward parity and equal representation at all l

evels. Meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of the month from noon to 1 p.m. To receive calendar invites and to be placed on the email list, contact Mandy Morales, VP of Education, City Hall X Toastmasters at mandy.morales at lacity.org. For membership information, contact Araceli Garcia, VP of Membership, at araceli.garcia at lacity.org. For public outreach inquiries, contact Amalia M. Merino, VP of Public Relations, at amalia.merino at lacity.org. Guests are welcome to attend on your way to membership. We were formed out of City Hall X, a community group for women in the LA City government. City Hall X is a forum for sharing ideas, discoveries, job opportunities, questions, and anything else that doesn't quite fit into a powerpoint presentation. City Hall X Toastmasters became a chartered Toastmasters Club (Toastmasters District 52) in September 2016.

Karina Casillas has worked for the City of Los Angeles for over 5 years. Her career in public service has led Karina to the Office of Community Beautification where she works to make LA a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable city by empowering the communities of LA with the necessary knowledge and resources to play an active role. In her spare time Karina is passionate about issues relating to women, access to higher education, and creating more multi-functional green spaces such as urban farming. Karina is currently training for the 2019 Climate Ride(250 Miles in 5 days) as a part of the LACBC team.

Happy International Women’s Day. In the year of and Time’s Up, the spotlight is on women calling for change. This year’s theme is . Toastmasters City Hall X helps women do just that. Join us each 1st and 3rd Wednesday at City Hall, in room 1040 on the 10th floor from 12 to 1:00 p.m. Practice public speaking in a safe place, empower yourself and other women. Take on various roles that make you a better leader. Toastmasters is where leaders are made! We look forward to seeing you soon.
