After passing my resolution in April to limit classroom screen time, the Board voted today to approve the new policy—outlining developmentally appropriate screen time limits, setting clear, consistent expectations for school communities, and expanding transparency and parent consent. Our work continues to ensure thoughtful classroom technology use, but today was a huge step toward finding that balance and making it a reality for students and families.

Happy ! Pride is not just a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, but a reminder of our ongoing responsibility to ensure every member of our school communities feels safe and supported to live their truth and express their identity. At a moment when some lawmakers are weaponizing public policy to sow hate and discrimination, it makes it all the more important for us to speak out against acts of hate and violence by embracing love and inclusion. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🫶
