The City Council just adopted my ordinance amendments to strengthen our City’s ability to address nuisance and hazardous properties that threaten public safety and neighborhood quality of life.

My reforms accelerate abatement timelines, improve coordination across City departments, and hold property owners accountable when dangerous conditions persist.

Communities deserve safer neighborhoods, faster action, and the assurance that nuisance properties won’t remain unresolved for years while residents bear the consequences.

An unforgettable evening celebrating culture, community, and the power of education at the Flavors of Baja + Oaxaca Becas Alas Fundraising Event. ✨

Hosted by the Consulate General of Mexico, the event brought together distinguished chefs, community leaders, and supporters to raise funds for the Becas Alas scholarship program, helping create educational opportunities for students through this meaningful initiative under Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was a beautiful reminder of how food, culture, and philanthropy can come together to make a lasting impact.

Angelenos deserve a budget that puts their needs first, which is why I’m proud to have secured funding in our City’s 2026-2027 Budget that directly addresses housing and homelessness, strengthens wildfire prevention, and supports the needs of our immigrant veterans facing deportation.

I am fully committed to financial transparency and ensuring Angelenos see tangible results and a substantial return on their investment.

When you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go! 🚻

Work is underway to install new restrooms at Ritchie Valens Park, with accessibility upgrades, improved landscaping, and upgraded water and irrigation systems included.

Across CD7, I am continuing to invest in parks and public spaces so they are cleaner, safer, and more accessible for everyone.

It was an honor to recognize the life and legacy of Kyoko Nancy Oda, a lifelong educator, historian, and community leader whose work preserved stories of justice, resilience, and remembrance.

As a Japanese American, she devoted her life to ensuring the history of Japanese American incarceration during World War II was never forgotten, while serving for decades as a dedicated LAUSD teacher and principal.

She also led major efforts in historic preservation and civil rights education across the San Fernando Valley. Her decades of service were recognized internationally, including an honor from the Government of Japan.

Her legacy of truth, compassion, and service will continue to inspire generations. May she rest in peace.

What an incredible day at our Memorial Day Concert at Brand Park honoring the memory of the fallen in collaboration with LA Fleet Week 🎶

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our biggest turnout yet as we came together to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans and military families. A special thank you to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band for an unforgettable performance that honored our veterans in such a powerful and beautiful way.

This event continues a meaningful tradition of remembrance, community, and support for those who have served our country. We are so grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this year’s concert so special.
