Today, our BD7 school Harbor Teacher Prep was recognized at our LAUSD Board Meeting for being ranked the number four high school in California by U.S. News & World Report’s 2026–2027 Best High Schools rankings.

Last month, we kicked off our first 26-27 Student Advisory Council meeting of the school year, welcoming 36 incredible BD7 scholars from across Board District 7! It was an inspiring evening filled with team building, sharing our goals for the year ahead, and uplifting student voices as they provided input on policy work. We’re so excited for the journey ahead and can’t wait to see all that we’ll accomplish together!

National Day of Service and Remembrance 🇺🇸

Today, we honor and remember those impacted by the tragedy of September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed that day. We remember the lives lost, the families who continue to carry their memories, and the first responders and everyday heroes who showed extraordinary courage and compassion in the face of tragedy.

This morning, we had the honor of attending LAFD’s 25th 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, coming together to remember, reflect, and honor the spirit of service that continues to unite our communities.

May we carry forward their legacy with compassion, unity, service, and hope.

The first weeks of school have been filled with so much joy! đź’ś My team and I have loved visiting our schools, connecting with students and staff, and learning about all the exciting things happening across our district.

We’re just getting started! We’ll continue visiting schools, celebrating the incredible work happening in our communities, and finding inspiration along the way.

Our final in-person BD7 Family Advisory Council meeting of the school year was a meaningful and memorable evening.

Over dinner, families engaged in important conversations about the district’s budget and shared their concerns and insights for the future.

We greatly value their voices and appreciate their commitment to supporting our schools and students. We concluded the evening by presenting certificates of appreciation to recognize their active participation and partnership throughout the year. 💜🙌🏽🎓
