Democracy in a parking lot! 🗳️

I had a great time joining the Palisades Recovery Coalition’s Community Meet & Greet this weekend, alongside candidates running for offices across Los Angeles and California (other judges, insurance commissioner, and city attorneys).

One of my favorite parts of campaigning is getting beyond the speeches and having real conversations with voters. Judicial races can be especially difficult for voters to learn about, so opportunities to meet face to face, ask questions, and talk about the experience and perspective we would bring to the bench really matter.

Thank you to Maryam and the Palisades Recovery Coalition for creating a space where candidates and community members could simply talk, listen, and get to know one another.

Grateful for the opportunity to spend today with family, friends, and our community while reflecting on the values at the heart of our country: liberty, service, and the principles of fairness and due process.

I am proud to have had a career dedicated to upholding these values in the courts for almost 20 years.

Treasurer Ma has spent her career fighting for transparency, accountability, and effective government. I’m honored to have her support as we work to ensure a court system that treats everyone with dignity, fairness, and respect.

With 20 years in public service and 17 years as an attorney serving Los Angeles County—including 10.5 years as a public defender—I bring the most diverse experience in LA County in this race. I have worked in criminal, juvenile, civil, and administrative law, giving me a unique understanding of the challenges facing our courts and the people who depend on them.

I look forward to continuing to serve our community.
