During the summer we have what we call our "Summer Feeding Program" for children of our food pantry clients. They can come in and shop for themselves in our kids room. They choose their own cereal, peanut butter, jelly, pop'top canned foods, granola bars, easy to fix things that do not involve a stove, etc. We would like to offer these children books and coloring materials, crayons etc. Used or New. We would also like to offer information about all of the churches VBS. If anyone or any group or organization would like to donate Christian/Biblical reading materials, etc. for this summer program please contact us at the food pantry (Family Resource Services, Inc. of Lonoke) or call me at 676-5607. We are so thankful to be able to give out 125 Thanksgiving dinner boxes to families in our community. From turkey all the way down to dessert and all the "in between" extras. Thank you to all that donated. We couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you especially to all the volunteers. Words can't describe how kind, loving & caring you are for our community. ISO a small wood burning stove for a client that might not have any other form of heat for the winter. If you have one to donate or know of one reasonably cheap please let us know. A great big thank you to all that help at the food pantry. Today was our busiest day ever and we were able to feed 68 families from Lonoke School district. We are "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" at Family Resource Services Inc of Lonoke.

Our Children's Summer Feeding Program starts in June so clients bring your kids in and they will get to "shop" in the kids room for their favorite foods. We have put together some kid friendly foods that will be easy for the kids to prepare. Pop a top, straight out of the can stuff like ravioli & beefaroni, microwaveable stuff, cereals, pop tarts, granola bars, fruit cups, drinks, Mac & cheese, peanut butter & jelly, hot dogs, sandwich meats, even Lunchables. And of course, CANDY!! The kids just love choosing their own food and we hope it makes it easy for them to have something nutritional to eat this summer. So parents, bring them in every month and let them do their own shopping. "Neighbors Helping Neighbors"
