The Longmeadow Parks and Recreation Department was proud to welcome the Longmeadow Pack 94 Cub Scouts to the Wolf Swamp Fields Complex on Sunday, May 3rd for their annual rocket launch event.

The popular yearly activity gave scouts the opportunity to design, build, and launch their own model rockets while learning about science, engineering, teamwork, and safety. Families, scout leaders, and community members gathered at the fields to watch the launches as the scouts proudly sent their rockets soaring into the sky.

The event highlighted the creativity and enthusiasm of the Cub Scouts, as each participant worked hard to assemble and personalize their rockets before launch day. Parks and Recreation staff were pleased to support the program by providing the space for this hands-on educational experience.

The Longmeadow Parks and Recreation Department values opportunities to partner with local youth organizations and support activities that encourage learning, outdoor recreation, and community involvement. The Department thanks Longmeadow Pack 94, scout leaders, volunteers, and families for another successful and exciting event at Wolf Swamp Fields!

Kelly is a PE and Health teacher at Longmeadow High School and the varsity Field Hockey and Lacrosse coach - and this fall marks her 10th year with the Lancers! A Springfield College alum who played both sports herself, Kelly brings a passion for player development and a true love of watching young athletes grow year after year.
